Next morning
Y/N and Seol remained in deep slumber, while Jungkook, ever the anxious father, returned early in the morning to check on Seol.He gently touched Seol's forehead, relieved to find the fever had completely subsided. His gaze then shifted to Y/N, who cradled his son tenderly in her arms.
Noticing a frown on her forehead as the sunlight hit her eyes, Jungkook got up and quietly drew the curtains. Returning to the bed, he gently brushed a strand of hair from her face, causing her to sigh softly in her sleep. A smile tugged at his lips as he watched her small movements.
As Jungkook continued to watch them, he couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude. Though Y/N wasn't his wife, she had been a steadfast support during Seol's illness, showing a level of care and compassion that touched him deeply. The bond they shared over his son was growing stronger each day. He was greatful for her presence as well as guilty for his own reasons.
Seol stirred slightly, opening his eyes to see his father. "Daddy," he murmured sleepily.
Jungkook leaned in, placing a gentle kiss on Seol's forehead. "Good morning. How are you feeling?"
"Better," Seol replied with a weak smile.
Y/N began to wake, blinking against the dimmed light. She looked up at Jungkook, her eyes softening as she saw him with Seol. He is always so cold with others yet so caring for his son. "Morning," she whispered.
"Morning," Jungkook replied warmly. "Thank you for staying with him."
Y/N smiled, a blush creeping up her cheeks. "Offcourse, afterall he is a little friend of mine"
Jungkook nodded, feeling a renewed sense of contentment. "Yes, we are." Seol chimed.
"Let's freshen up and get some breakfast," he suggested. "You both need to eat."
Y/N nodded, carefully extricating herself from Seol's gentle grip. "That sounds good."
Three of them sat around the dining table.
Three of them sat around the dining table, the morning light filtering through the now-closed curtains, creating a cozy atmosphere. Jungkook had prepared a simple but hearty breakfast: scrambled eggs, toast, and fruit.
Seol, looking much more energetic, eagerly took a bite of his toast. "This is yummy, Daddy!"
Jungkook smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm glad you like it. Make sure you eat enough to get your strength back."
Y/N watched the interaction with a soft smile, feeling a warmth in her chest. She was grateful to be a part of these moments, even if her relationship with both of them was more like platonic. She took a sip of her orange juice, savoring the quiet contentment of the morning.
After breakfast, Seol, still full of energy, asked, "Can we play a game, Daddy?"
"Of course, we can," Jungkook replied, glancing at Y/N. "What do you think? Want to join us?"
Y/N nodded, her smile widening. "I'd love to."
They moved to the living room, where Seol eagerly picked out a board game. As they played, the room filled with laughter and playful banter. Jungkook and Y/N shared smiles and occasional touches, their bond somehow strengthening emotionaly with each passing moment.
After a few rounds of the game, Seol's eyelids began to drop. Jungkook noticed and gently suggested, "How about a little nap? You need your rest."
Seol nodded sleepily, and Jungkook carried him back to his bed, tucking him in with a kiss on the forehead. "Sweet dreams, Seol."
