"LOVE YOU LIKE A BROTHER."PETER PHONED J. JONAH JAMESON'S news station. "Ladies and gentlemen, the Bugle tip line has just received a call from none other than the fugitive known as Spider — Man, fresh from his rampage in Queens. So, Peter Parker, what pernicious propaganda are you peddling?" J. Jonah Jameson asked, Peter internally rolled his eyes.
God, J. Jonah Jameson was insufferable. "Just the truth." he deadpanned with anger. J. Jonah Jameson mumbled something with an eye roll. "The truth is t — that this is all my fault. I accidentally brought those dangerous people here." it was hard to admit it, he knew it was true. It was his fault. It was his fault May was dead. It was his fault Queens was currently messy. Everything was his fault.
As much as Peter hated J. Jonah Jameson, he was right. "Well, he admits it!" he spread his arms widely, as if he made a shocking discovery.
Peter sighed, internally he groaned and threw his phone far, far away. "And if those people are watching, just know that I really did try to help you." he stifled down tears. He missed May. He held up the magic box, "I could've killed you at any given moment, but I didn't. Because my Aunt May taught me that everyone deserves a second chance, and that's why I'm here." he shrugged.
The news man squinted his eyes, trying to see the background. "And where is here, exactly?" asked J. Jonah Jameson.
"A place that represents second chances." Peter moved his phone to show a scaffolding surrounding the Statue of Liberty's construction, they were adding a shield. Captain America's shield, to be precise.
J. Jonah Jameson gasped loudly, "The Statue of Liberty? Good God, folks! He's about to destroy another national landmark!" he yelled, he was a very naturally loud man. He seemed to always be yelling.
Peter thinned his lips, "The world, if you're watching —" he got cut off. He wanted to scream 'Oh my god! Let me get a thought out!!' but he resisted for the plan.
The news man chuckled, "Believe me, the world is watching!" he slammed his down on the table. Ugh. Could he get more dramatic?
Peter let out a long sigh, "Wish me luck. Your friendly neighborhood Spider — man could really use some." he smiled and ended the call as tears spiked his eye sockets. Peter ( Tom ) stood on the top of the Statue of Liberty "Okay, guys. It could be any minute now." he was scared. Truly terrified. He was also excited — in a way — to rip Norman Osborn to shreds.
Peter ( Tobey ) webbed the cure to the scaffolding to secure it, ensuring the important cure wouldn't fall and break. "Yup, almost done." he nodded, he was excited to get home. He was homesick.
The other Peter ( Andrew ) did some stretches. He was homesick too. But not for his physical home, he was homesick for a person. He was homesick for his Gwen, his heart longed for her. His heart belonged to her but she couldn't take care of it anymore, a measly six feet separated them, but six feet felt much farther. "Y'know, Max was, like, the sweetest guy ever. Before he fell into a pool of electric eels" he reminisced. The good old days.
"That'll do it." Peter ( Tobey ) shrugged. He leaned his body around a steel bar, "And there it goes." he grunted, seemingly in pain.
Peter ( Andrew ) chuckled, "You okay?" he asked with furrowed eyebrows.
Peter ( Tobey ) nodded his head, "It's just my back. It's kind of stiff from all the swinging, I guess." he shrugged, still stretching his back on the bar.
A smile crossed Peter's ( Tom's ) face, he was glad he didn't have to worry about that quite yet. He was sure it was coming, his back had hurt a few times before but nothing to call home about. He didn't say that, though. There was no need to rub his youth in their faces. "Oh, yeah, I get middle back pain too." Peter ( Andrew ) agreed as Peter ( Tom ) winced. It was only a matter of time, crap.
