1 Day after Arrival"So they'll be able to see everything?"
Barry nodded as he tightened the wrist straps on Cora. She shifted in her seat, uneasy. Her breathing sped up as she felt the leather digging into her flesh, and she shook her shoulders, flexing slightly. Cisco stood beside her, worry lacing his gaze as he turned away from her. Cecile sat across from her, a headpiece connected to an identical one that Cora was wearing. Jason stood a few feet away, shifting his weight.
"Are you sure this is safe?" He questioned, dragging his fingers through his hair. Concern flashed in his eyes, and he stepped forward, taking Cora's hand, "You don't have to do this, you know."
"I know," she nodded, sweat beading across her forehead, "I need to. I need answers."
"I know," he whispered, touching her chin for a moment, "If anything goes south I'm pulling the plug, you hear me?"
She hummed in response, "See you soon, Jaybird."
"See you soon, Cor."
He stepped back, folding his arms, foot tapping impatiently on the floor. Caitlin pressed a few buttons on her tablet and the machine whirred to life. Cecile's eyes flashed blue, and she transferred her powers through the machine. It hit Cora like a tidal wave, and she threw her head back, wailing in pain. Her nails dug into her palms as she tugged against the restraints, her teeth grinding together. Her body relaxed slowly, her eyes glassing over as Cecile entered her mind.
"Transferring data now," Cisco said, flicking a video feed from the tablet onto the larger monitor.
The team watched, some in horror, some in shock as Cora's memories played on the screen. As they did, Cora was teleported to each memory, reliving it as if it was the present.
Years Ago, Before the Great Fall
Miles outside of NecrusA young teen girl sat in a field of sea flowers, the tide tossing her hair around her. She lifted her face to the surface, watching it ripple as the sun beat down on her. She silently prayed to the sea gods, tilting her head as she heard distant shouts.
"There! There she is!"
She whipped around, her black dress flowing around her. A ship hovered in the waters, her people swimming towards her. Before she could react, her back was slammed into the ground, the flowers around her slowly charring away as a small burst of energy flowed from her body. She wailed in terror, the men dragging her towards the ship, her nails scraping and scratching the surface of their armor. They threw her in the ship, and she gasped for breath in the waterless ship. She coughed, hacking up mouthfuls of water, slowly breathing in the oxygen around her. Heavy footsteps came from across the ship, and a hand roughly grabbed her chin.
"Well aren't you pretty. The tales of the surface really didn't do you justice."
She looked up, her limbs shaking as she weakly pushed herself onto her knees. She looked up at the man above her, and she bared her fangs. He looked disgusting, sweat dripping from his brows, hair oily, clinging to his forehead. His crown was nestled in his hair, the gold of it dull and faded.
"You will make a wonderful wife," he grinned, terrifying her. The look on his face was psychotic, demented.
"I would rather rip out my own heart," she growled, her voice shaking.
