2 weeks later

"Look." My sister mutters to me as she steps into my room.

The article went on but I didn't bother reading it.

Seven times? He doesn't even like the theatre...

"Does he know?" Leah asks and I remain quiet before blinking at her.

"What?"

"Does he know that you were Christine? Or is he just a musical nerd?"

I shake my head, trying to compose myself so I don't cry again. "He hates them."

I haven't left my house in two weeks. I come down for meals and talk to my family and that's about it. For the most part, they haven't really mentioned it but for some reason, tonight they decide to torture me.

"Honestly, I think he's a complete piece of shit."

My eyes lift from the dinner I was only
picking at and dart to my dad. "What?"

"The guy is known for having multiple... relations at a time. He probably hired you to get in your pants then leave you for someone else."

"Dad!" Leah snaps.

"What? It's probably true." Dad only shrugs and my stomach drops.

If he's right, that means I was completely used. It also means that I might not be as skilled at the one real job I've ever had and loved.

I look at my mom who is just eating her dinner at her end of the table, not trying to defend me or even back up Dad.

I hardly register the rest of the bickering between Leah and Dad, it's basically the same few sentences reworded.

"I'm going to bed." I mutter and get up.

"No, Scilla-" Leah starts but I'm already pushing my chair under the table with more force than necessary and leaving the room.
