Her POV:
"I think it's a horrendous idea." I was scared to my core. I was wearing a borrowed black dress from my aunt's boutique. Not that I wanted to deck myself so much but I wanted to get dressed for once into what I considered a life time opportunity.
No, no, no not seeing him, going in a club.
I came clean to my aunt about the club night out and my aunt couldn't be more supportive. She in fact spoke to her brother, my dad, and convinced him that I will be staying with her tonight.
The club was exactly what I expected. Loud music, louder chaos, tipsy people and a lot of alcohol.
"Are you sure this is an ideal place to meet someone you can potentially marry?"
"Oh shut up! I am sure that Agasthya has been to worse places" Agasthya, right, sexy name, sexier voice;that I heard before his bride could.
"I am sure, not for a date" I barely uttered in that loud environment as she dragged me in.
"Alright" Jas said as both of us made our way towards the high stool at the bartender table. It took me a little more adjustment with the dress, to climb, but I did well, eventually.
"You sit here and I will be right across over there." Jas pointed me towards an empty table for two at the secluded corner of the club. "I'll be able to see you. Okay?" She leaned ahead to speak louder close to my ears. I nodded in response. I might not be a regular at places like these but definitely I am not a kid. I am sure I won't do anything to get myself into any sort of trouble.
"Also..." she spoke "don't you dare have a drink without me." She quickly turned towards the bartender and leaned on the counter so as to be audible.
"Please only serve her non alcoholic drinks" the bartender responded with a nod and a thumbs up and went back to whatever he was doing.
"Okay he has texted me. I'll just be back in some time." Jas got up to adjust her outfit before taking a final glance at me and walking towards the table with that confident strides of her.
I could see her at table, and no matter what she says, she did appear a little nervous. I was so intent on looking, I might look like a creep. In my defence I was just looking out for Jas but I knew deep in my heart, I was looking for a face to that voice.
I knew it was wrong. It was wrong on so many levels. To lookout for someone I know isn't mine to keep.
Suddenly a man, well groomed, in the outfit farthest of what one might wear at a club, in formals, stood next to Jas.
I was disappointed, not because Jas finally met 'him' but because I guess I might have expected more.
A little more built and a little more, I don't know, fictional.
Rough
Nevertheless it was good, wasn't it? I was over the crush.
The gentleman wasn't my type. I don't know what my type is honestly.
He took Jas along somewhere, and I was looking intently at them, for Jas to give me any cue, any sign that I should follow or sit wherever.
My phone dinged,
Jas: Mr groom has made personal seating arrangements. Gtg. See you soon.
And I turned towards the counter. "Drinks please"
