A new day and a new class. Today, Ryan and the rest were going to attend the most awaited class of Arcana. A class that makes the life of all sorcerers glamorous and exciting.

The class of magic combat.

"Even though we come from the household alchemists I am strangely excited for this magic combat class." Eva said.

"Hmph" A grunt came from the dark.

"L also agrees." Eva said.

"Our Crossman household uniqueness of dual cores for having both mana and aura basically makes combat our expertise." Ryan said in a smug way "You guys will be surprised the moment you face me in combat."

Currently the students were in an open ground which had an arena like vibe to it. There were training dummies, wooden swords, spears, shields and other weapons. Some weapons didn't make any sense at all. There were different beast skulls placed on some hanger like furniture, the beast skulls had strange gems imbedded in them and the skulls looked black in colour rather than the natural white colour.

On the other side there were some real weapons too. These weapons looked nothing like ordinary weapons. Some swords had a blade of flames; a spear had constant lightning through it and a few axes had frost over it.

"I see you guys are admiring the weapons and artefacts the academy has allotted for your use." A rough masculine voice came from another entrance of the training hall. "These toys are good but you guys should see my personal collection someday."

The voice came from a six feet tall middle aged man who entered from the other end of the arena with a pretty lady a head shorter than him. While the man had a very muscular body, the woman had a comparatively toned body far from muscular. The man had few visible scars too on his hands, shoulders and face. He was wearing something close to a trench coat and the most striking thing about this person were his white hair and the intimidating aura that he gave from just his presence. The woman on the other hand wore a fancy black trench coat like dress with a hat that had white and blue feathers attached to it, there was also a ring on her left hand's index finger. There was a black stone in that ring was quite big and striking. The woman looked stunning yet out of place for a combat instructer.

"Good afternoon young ones, I am Professor Godfrey. I will be teaching you about magic combat. My expertise is close combat using aura and mana augmentation. And she is assistant Freya, she will be overseeing the magic casting and long ranged battle tactics of yours." Professor Godfrey said in a hoarse voice.

'I know him; he is one of the most hailed generals of the imperial army. He retired early from the army because he claimed he claimed far too many lives on the battle field and anymore than that would take away his last bit of humanity from him. To not let his talent rot away in some farm the imperial family recommended him for this position in Arcana so that he can train another Godfrey for the Army. He should be my mentor if I want to become strong in this life. I should impress him.' Ryan thought to himself.

Everyone also seemed to realize the true identity of this great general and a trend of heated whispers was heard among the students.

"HAHA! Young kids are sure full of energy. But my job is to meld you into something useful so that you can use this energy more efficiently. Twenty laps around the arena for warm up. Then we will do push ups, sit ups, pull ups and every other activity to loosen up your bodies. This arena is a pocket dimension where time moves faster so we will be able to do all of this without being worried about the clock. Get moving now, Cadets!" Godfrey said in a booming voice and as a veteran of the battlefield no one dared to protest against his order.
