I could see the family resemblance between Zoe and Atlas. It was almost terrifying how alike they were. They both had the same face scrunch when they get angry.

"Let Artemis go," Zoe demanded.

Atlas walked towards Artemis and gestured to her chain. "Perhaps you'd like to take the sky for her? Be my guest."

Zoe opened her mouth to speak but Artemis cut her off. "No! Do not! Zoe, I forbid you!"

Atlas smirked and tried to touch the goddess's face, resulting in him almost losing his fingers from her attempted bite.

Atlas chuckled at her efforts. "You see, daughter? Lady Artemis likes her new job. I think I will have all Olympians take turns carrying my burden. Teach them some humility when this is the centre of my palace."

I looked at Annabeth. She was desperately trying to tell me something. She motioned her head toward Luke. I couldn't help but notice her blonde hair stained with a streak of gray.

"From holding the sky," Thalia muttered to me after she caught me staring. "The weight should've killed her."

"I don't understand," Percy whispered. "Why can't Artemis just let go of the sky?"

Atlas laughed at Percy. "How little you understand, young one. The sky would crash down and would instantly flatten the world." Atlas smiled for a moment. "There is no escape from the burden. Unless another takes it from you."

He approached us, studying all of us slowly. "So these are the best heroes of the age, eh? Not much of a challenge."

"Fight us," Percy said. "And let's see."

"Percy," I whispered. "Maybe don't threaten the Titan to fight us."

Atlas laughed at Percy, again. "I will not lose my dignity fighting you. I shall have Luke crush you instead."

"So you're another coward," Percy said.

"What did I just say," I let my head fall into my hands and rubbed my eyes with annoyance.

"Thalia," Luke pleaded. "Join us. It's not too late. Call the Ophiotaurus, he will come to you!"

"Luke..." she said, her voice full with pain. "What happened to you?"
