I woke up to Kayleigh looking down at me on the floor. I stretched and sat up beside her on the bed.
"I'll be back as soon as possible," She tackled me in a hug and didn't let go until the sun started to rise.
Annabeth had insisted that I should pack the night before so all I had to do was toss the backpack on and hurry out the door.
Surprisingly, Percy was there before me. Everyone stared at me as I approached Zeus's fist. Juniper and Grover stood off to the group as they said their goodbyes.
Chiron, quietus and Mrs. O'Leary stood with other camera who had come to wish us well. It felt like a goodbye forever which was unsettling.
I stood beside Percy and frowned at him. "You look terrible."
"He killed the water fountain last night," Tyson confided.
"What?" I asked.
Before he could explain, Chiron trotted over. "Well, it appears you are ready!"
He tried to sound upbeat but I could tell he was anxious.
"Hey, uh, Chiron," Percy said.can I ask you a favour while I'm gone?"
"Of course, my boy!" Chiron said.
"Be right back, guys," Percy nodded towards the woods. Chiron raised an eyebrow, but he followed Percy out of earshot.
"Why is he being all mysterious," I grumbled at Annabeth. She only laughed at me and I snapped my head to look at her. "What?"
She stifled her giggles and shook her head. "Nothing, nothing."
They seemed to be taking ages and I was getting anxious. "They're taking forever."
"It's been like two minutes," Annabeth smiled. "But, by all means, go over if you want to."
"Fine, I will." I said and trudged over to Percy and Chiron. "Percy, you ready?"
He nodded and slipped his hands into his pockets before following me.
