Excitement filled the air around camp during breakfast. Apparently an escaped Aethiopian drakon was fun around here. I slept through the entire thing since it couldn't get through the magic barriers. After a few dozen arrows from the Apollo kids it left.

"It's still out there," Lee warned us during announcements. "It's just angry now."

"You did well Lee," Chiron patted him on the shoulder. "Everyone stay alert, but stay calm."

"Aye," Quintus, the new swordsman trainer at camp, said from the head table. "And it will happen again. More and more frequently."

The campers murmured among themselves. I couldn't make out what they were saying but I had a good guess. The rumour of Luke and his army of monsters planning an invasion of camp spread like wildfire recently. Some campers had joined Luke and others just disappeared.

"This is a good reason for new war games," Quintus continued with a glint in his eyes. "We'll see how you all do with that tonight."

"Yes..." Chiron said. "Well, enough announcements. Let us bless this meal and eat." He raised his goblet. "To the gods!"

We all raised our glasses and repeated the blessing. I had to nudge Kayleigh beside me to do the same. We both walked over to the bronze brazier and scraped food in. Kayleigh wasn't tall enough so she was sat on my hip.

"Persephone," I said, then whispered. "Please, let Chase be safe in the Underworld."

Cabin elevens' table was stuffed as usual, nobody tried to shove me off when I was with Kayleigh though, so it was one of the pros having her around.

I felt a tap on my shoulder, and turned around to see Annabeth. "We need to talk."

"Now?"

"Yes."

I turned to Kayleigh, and then someone spoke beside me.

"I'll watch her for a bit," Connor Stoll said as he shoveled food into his mouth. I tilted my head slightly at him. "For gods sake, I'm not going to harm the child."

I shrugged and followed Annabeth as she led me to a table with Percy and Grover.

"Look," Annabeth said. "Grover is in trouble. There's only one way we can figure to help him. It's the Labyrinth. That's what Clarisse, Rayn and I have been investigating."
