The sun was high in the sky when a knock sounded at Elina's door, the fae jolted upwards, heart pounding and bile rising in her throat. She pushed herself up into a sitting position, arms trembling, body still aching from the assault the night before and the fact that she had slept curled up on the hardwood floor. A knock sounded again, this time more persistant, Elina glanced to the window, light pouring into the room in rays of gold and amber, gone was the flickering burn of firelight, but the scent of smoke still clung to her skin, the fae doubled over, heaving.

"Elina!" The voice was raised, worried, but the girl couldn't move. Suddenly it was dark again, Tamlin was there, his hands on her skin, clawing, ripping, tearing. She couldn't breath. "Elina!" Someone was screaming, but all the girl could do was cry. Muscles locked and shaking, trembling so violently everything seemed to blur. Then there was a crunch, wood being split in two with sheer force, a scream ripped from Elina's throat. Terror was gripping her, it had sunk into her bones, tearing at her veins, and that dreamer heart in her chest was crumbling like ashes.

"Please, no, no!" She cried out, there were hands on her, gripping her arms, dragging her. Elina thrashed violently. He was back, Tamlin was going to kill her for what she did, rip her to shreds and then take what he wanted. Feyre.

"Elina, please it's me," The voice shouted, it didn't sound like Tamlin, it was too high, pinched with a melodic lilt that Tamlin's baritone voice didn't carry, even if this person was screaming. It wasn't him. Her eyes flew open, she couldn't even remember closing them. There kneeling before her was Lucien, metal eye spinning while his other was wide and panic stuck, one hand clutching his cheek, crimson dripping past his fingertips.

"Elina," He whispered, the girl launched herself into his arms, clinging to him, sobs pouring from her lips, and he held her. Letting her fall into his lap and held her there while she cried away all her tears until there was nothing left, it could have been minutes or hours, but Elina remained there, cocooned in Lucien's hold until the last drop of panic melted away and her body felt like her's again.

"Lina, what happened?" He asked, rocking her gently as he had once done when she was a child.

"He... I..." Her voice rose, sunk and shattered in her throat.

"Did someone hurt you?" Lucien asked, voice gentle as ever and the girl nodded, sucking in a deep breath to soothe her aching lungs.

"He tried... he wanted me to be..." She tried to say the words but to speak them aloud... to admit to him, to herself. A high pitched sob escaped her lips. "He was going to use me for..."

"Tamlin," Lucien grit out and Elina winced, "Tamlin did this to you?" He seethed and Elina nodded her head slowly.

"I'm gonna fucking kill him," He hissed, moving to stand up but Elina was still on his lap, clinging to him desperately.
