Days seem to pass in a blur. A week has passed since I started working at Shinra. So far I've only been able to visit Zack twice, never running into those Firsts or the platinum haired man. I've found out through sheer gossip that the mystery man is named Sephiroth, some supposed war hero and high ranking general. The name seemed to ring a bell in me, and I remember years ago when his name was everywhere. Never being one to care about fighting, I had ignored any mention of the man at the time, instead choosing to help those who had lost their homes.
Earlier today Zack had texted me asking if I wanted to have dinner after work with his friends. Thinking he meant Cissnei and Kunsel, I agreed, wanting to get to know the two better. I hadn't seen them since that first day of work.
I now stand outside the gates of the Shinra building, waiting for Zack to pick me up. He said he'd pick me up right after work since I get out later than him, giving me no time to get home and change.
A sleek black car pulls up in front of me, the windows tinted so dark I can't see the driver. I bend down to peer into the car as the passenger side window rolls down. A smile finds its way to my face when I see Zack in the passenger seat, curiously I shift my eyes to the driver's seat. Upon seeing who's behind the wheel however, my stomach lurches.
It's the very handsome Sephiroth, this time without all the leather. Instead he's donning a white dress shirt and slacks, the shirt having the first couple buttons undone, showing off his milky white collarbone.
Zack urges me into the backseat, thankfully no one else is in the car. He turns around in his seat as he introduces us.
Sephiroth looks at me through the rearview mirror, nodding to me as he pulls into the road.
"Pleased to meet you."
"Pleasure's all mine." Swallowing my nerves, I return his greeting. I tuck my briefcase between my legs as I glance out the window.
'Why didn't Zack tell me he meant these friends!? I'm gonna have a heart attack being around these guys, they're basically celebrities!'
The sound of my name being said catches my attention and I tune into whatever Zack is saying.
"He works for Scarlet, I don't know how he does it, everyone I know has a horror story about that woman."
"Hm. I've had the displeasure of meeting her a few times. She'd thrown a hissy fit when I destroyed a prototype during testing."
Zack shifts his body to face me. "So, anything happen with the boss yet? Spill the deets, man."
"Nothing." I shake my head. "But she does want me to go down to the basement levels with her tomorrow. Anything is bound to happen."
"I'll be heading down there for testing tomorrow, perhaps we'll run into each other." Sephiroth makes eye contact with me through the rearview mirror once more, a shiver makes its way down my spine.
"Maybe."
We stay mostly silent as we go to our destinations, occasionally responding to Zack as rambles on about his day and this new friend of his.

We walk into this rather fancy looking restaurant, Sephiroth leading the way inside. He tells the hostess about his reservation and she leads us to our table, revealing that two of his friends are already here. I take in the interior design of the place as we walk.
'Gosh, this place is so fancy. I haven't even gotten my first paycheck yet, this is seriously gonna put a dent in my savings.'
We arrive at our table, the two SOLDIERs I'd seen before having already been seated and deep in conversation. Zack once again takes the initiative and introduces me to them as we sit, him taking the seat next to Angeal. Sephiroth sits next to Genesis, leaving me between the two I arrived with.
Conversation flows nicely between us, them asking where I'm from and what I did before. A waiter stops by to take our orders, temporarily putting a stop to our chatter, but once he leaves it picks right back up.
The questioning eventually dies down and they then start to share stories of missions and how they met. Zack, Angeal and Genesis do most of the talking, with Sephiroth chiming in every now and then to give his piece.
Our food is eventually brought out and for a time we eat in silence, until Genesis asks me a very odd question.
"So, join any fanclubs yet? You don't seem the type but who am I to judge?" Angeal and Sephiroth shake their heads and sigh.
"What? You guys have fanclubs?" The notion of 'fanclubs' leaves me flabbergasted and they could hear it in my voice as clear as day. My gaze shifts over them as they stare at me, varying amounts of surprise evident on each of their faces.
Zack laughs as he looks me in the eyes. "You mean you didn't know? Dude, everyone knows!"
"Even you have one? That's so weird!" I can't hide the astonishment from my face, I couldn't even if I tried.
Sephiroth chuckles, hiding a small smile by taking a sip of his wine. "At least someone thinks so."
Zack whips out his phone, Genesis telling me about the fanclubs as Angeal continues to enjoy his meal.
"Here, have a look." He shoves his screen in my face, my eyes squinting at the brightness of his screen before focusing on what's displayed.
"What the fuck are these names?" I don't mean to cuss but this entire ordeal has weirded me out.
Genesis cackles, slapping his hands down on his friends shoulders. Angeal grumbles something along the lines of 'I like the names'.
"I can shoot you an invite if you want." Zack shoots me a hopeful look, like 'please join my fanclub'.
"I want absolutely no part of this."
Zack makes these puppy dog eyes at me but I look away, choosing to focus on my meal. The rest of dinner is pleasant, random topics brought up for more conversation. We all pay for our own meals when we're done, bidding a farewell to Angeal and Genesis once we're outside.
Sephiroth drives Zack and I home, dropping me off first with a 'see you around'. Overall I had a wonderful time, I wouldn't mind doing this again.
