Kaia woke up first since she had to be on set quite early but once she had taken a shower and changed into her clothes for the day, she still had some time to kill so she sat back down in bed, watching Taylor sleeping soundly.
She had to be up soon too, anyway, since she had a flight to catch to Mexico. Kaia didn't want to bother her before her alarm went off but she also didn't want to leave without wishing her a safe flight.
She put her hand on Taylor's back, drawing small and gentle circles. Taylor barely even stirred. Kaia smiled affectionately and leaned down to kiss her forehead.
"Tay, I have to get to work," she murmured, brushing Taylor's hair out of her face. "I'm not leaving without a kiss goodbye."
Taylor's nose twitched and a few seconds later, she opened her eyes, just enough to meet Kaia's gaze. Kaia's smile widened, holding Taylor's cheek in her palm.
"You can go right back to sleep. Just wanted to tell you that I love you," Kaia said, dropping a kiss on her hairline.
Taylor smiled sleepily and closed her eyes again, though she opened her arms wide, inviting Kaia in for a cuddle. Kaia leaned into her, hugging her softly. Taylor's arms closed around her waist and she dropped her face in the crook of Kaia's neck, breathing heavily from her nose.
"I love you," she croaked out, her voice barely audible.
Kaia beamed, scratching Taylor's back. "Have a great time in Mexico! And text me as soon as you land. Also, bring me back a souvenir. Also, I love you."
She felt Taylor's lips spread into a smile against her neck and she left a kiss on the same spot.
"I'll bring you back a massive sombrero."
"You promise?" Kaia replied, tilting Taylor's head so she could meet her gaze.
Taylor nodded, holding out her pinky. "Promise."
Kaia hooked her pinky with Taylor's before leaning in to kiss her.
"Have a great day at work, baby," Taylor murmured, pressing her forehead against Kaia's, her eyes once again closing. "I love you a lot."
"I love you a lot too," Kaia whispered, pecking her lips again.
She wished she could join Taylor in Mexico but she had to be on set on Thursday and Friday, and she had a premier she had to attend on the weekend and some kind of promotional photoshoot. She had to work. But when Taylor got back, she was going to be on break for a few months and they would get to spend so much time together that they could get sick of each other.
Kaia couldn't wait.
She tried to stand up but Taylor clung to her, hugging her tightly with her cheek pressed against Kaia's chest. Kaia chuckled, patting Taylor's head softly.
"Darling, I've got to get to work."
In response, Taylor started "snoring".
Kaia smiled amusedly, pinching Taylor's side to tickle her. "Tay?"
"Shhh. I'm asleep," she mumbled, her words muddled together.
"Well, can you wake up? I can't be late on my first week."
Taylor lay back down in bed, pulling Kaia with her. "Just... Stay for another minute, please."
How could she say no to that? Kaia sighed softly, sitting on the edge of the bed and brushing her fingers through Taylor's hair. She pushed her bangs back so she could kiss her forehead, her lips lingering for a moment longer.
