Natalie's POV.
We all stare at the banging of the windows, walkers trying their best mindless attempts to get into the building. I glare over at Andrea as she lets out a snarky comment to Rick.
"You just rang the dinner bell."
"Get the picture now?" The man beside Andrea looks over to Rick, awaiting a response. I stare at the walkers hitting the glass with a brick. How the fuck does it know how to do that... Everyone freaks out, booking it back towards the back of the store, leaving me and Rick to stand there. I tilt my head slightly to the side to get a better look, but Rick grabs my arm and starts to drag me back with the rest of them.
"What the hell were you doing out there anyway? "Andrea asks Rick, her voice wary.
"Trying to find the helicopter." Rick looks over to me, dropping my arm before looking back at the others.
"Helicopter? Man that's crap, there ain't no damn helicopter." One of the men speak up, looking between me and Rick like we're lunatics.
"You were chasing a hallucination, imagining things—it happens." A lady speaks up looking at us with concerned looks like the rest of them. God I hate when people do that.
I shake my head, snapping at the group. "We saw it. Don't start giving us that bullshit like we're some deranged mental asylum escapees." I glare between the man and the woman. The group looks at me with even more worry which irritates me more. I'm guessing they don't like short tempered people, yet they have that Andrea girl right over there doing jack-shit.
"Hey T-Dog, try that CB, can you contact the others?" The other man chimes in, breaking some of the tension between me and the group.
"Others?" Rick perks up, glancing around at everyone's faces. "The refugee center?"
A lady speaks up, looking at Rick with a glare. "Yeah the refugee center. They got biscuits waitin' in the oven for us." Her tone is laced with sarcasm.
"Got no signal." T-Dog cuts off the soon-to-be argument. What is with these people? Glenn was perfectly normal, so what stick is so far up their fuckin' asses? "Maybe the roof." T-Dog's idea gives the group hope. Just then, we hear a gunshot coming from said roof.
"Oh no—is that Dixon?" Andrea let out a defeated sigh as everyone starts rushing towards the door that leads to the exit. There's even more here? Great. My mind runs while I look out the windows at the walkers; I thought I'd be happy to find other people, but with the way these ones seem to talk and act, I would've preferred sticking away from Atlanta with Rick. Would've saved us the ammo, horses, and sanity. Rick cuts my thoughts short as he grabs me again, pulling me towards the stairs that lead up to the fire roof.
"Y'know you could just tell me to get a move on." I groan as Rick slams the fire door behind us, everyone running up the stairs towards the door that leads to the roof.
"That's what I was doing. Someone needs to get their hearing checked out." He runs up the stairs while sticking close to me, as if I'm about to just stop running.
"Cut me some slack, Rick. I was in two car accidents the day before I saved your ass from the hospital." I glare over to him as we finally reach the top of the stairs, the man I don't know the name of flinging the door open as he yells out to the man on the roofs ledge.
"Hey Dixon are you crazy?!" The man on the ledge only laughs as he fires another shot, the group gathering on the walkway as Rick strides up to him. For fucks sakes Rick. Don't do it.
