Chapter 51: The Return

Amelia's POV

Amelia sat on that bed in silence after her and Sebastian's... 'accident' in the shower.

As soon as reality slapped them both across the face, Sebastian didn't waste a second when he gripped her thighs and carried her out of the shower, the both of them still soaking wet, and threw Amelia down on the bed before he made haste to the door.

When she asked him why he was suddenly leaving without even changing out of his wet clothes or bothering to dry off at all, the only thing he said was that he needed to go to Upper Hogsfield and would be back in a very panicked tone.

And she didn't even have the chance to ask him for what reason before he slammed the door behind him and ran out of the house like it was on fire.

She felt as though she should've been more panicked, more frantic than Sebastian was. She didn't take any contraceptives and they both had forgotten to use the spell, but... she wasn't panicked or worried at all.

Aside from the fleeting, irrational thought that crossed her mind while she was drying off and changing into her Slytherin sweater and black trousers—that Sebastian wasn't actually going to return and just booked it out of the Highlands—she was surprisingly calm.

Amelia knew damn well the man who sacrificed his own life to save hers wouldn't bolt out of there after filling her up like a turkey on Thanksgiving.

It wasn't until about twenty-ish minutes later that Sebastian returned to the safe house, stepping into the bedroom with a sparkling blue vial in his hand. His damp, brown waves were disheveled, either from running or raking his hands through them.

Taking into account his panting breaths and flushed cheeks, it was probably the former.

After he set the unfamiliar vial down on the bedside table, Amelia studied it with a curious head tilt. "What's that?"

"It'll prevent you from becoming a mother," Sebastian informed her as he caught his breath, standing across from her with his palms on his knees. "It's a Prevention of Bearing potion. It's best taken right after unprotected sex. Basically, it contains a hormone that will prevent your ovary from releasing the egg. If there's no egg to release, then the sperm has nothing to fertilize."

Amelia skeptically narrowed her eyes at him. "With how much you know about sex, woman's bodies, and pregnancies, I'm starting to become convinced you've done this rodeo before—"

"Amie, for the millionth time, I've read every damned book in that Restricted Section. I don't need to have prior experience to know all this," Sebastian cut in with a drawl, pointing to the vial that sit waiting. "It's best you take it as soon as possible to prevent pregnancy. There's some side effects such as mild headache and nausea, but nothing too severe."

Sebastian straightened up and crossed his arms over his chest, expecting and waiting for Amelia to take the potion.

But she hesitated.
