Lies [Dazai x Akutagawa]

And as promised, dazai punched akutagawa two times and shot him five times. But difference this time was that akutagawa managed to defend himself from them.

"Next time you try to get yourself killed, come to me. I'll do it myself."
Dazai said leaving the warehouse.

That day akutagawa left the warehouse with less wounds than usual.

Akutagawa was dashing his way to dazai's office. Dazai had called him to his office saying that he had important matters to discuss with him.
Unti today, Dazai had never discussed important matters with akutagawa. He usually preferred to take care of them alone. So akutagawa was little skeptical about the scenario. At the same time, he also wanted dazai's approval. He wanted to prove himself to dazai very badly. So he did not waste any time and rushed to dazai's office.

"Oh you are here. Come and take a look at this" dazai said, handing over a file to akutagawa.

Akutagawa read through it. It was about one of the clients of port mafia.

"These people are very important to us. We are going to meet them today and I want you in your best behaviour. Do not cause any trouble."
Dazai said glaring at him.

Best behaviour?Not cause any trouble? Does he take me for his pet dog. Well, this lunatic might as well.

"Let's go" dazai said leaving the office and akutagawa followed him.

"Behave" dazai warned before entering the club, where the meeting was taking place.
Akutagawa followed behind dazai.

"Hey there fellas!! How are you doing there!" Dazai greeted the people inside with a wide smile. "So, shall we talk about the business?".

The conversation went for about 15 minutes. The entire time Akutagawa did nothing but stood beside dazai.
Suddenly dazai got up seat.
"Stay here" dazai said to akutagawa with an intimidating look. Dazai then left somewhere with a man who seemed like the head.

Now what? Akutagawa wondered realising the situation he was put in. He was left alone with all these men.

He remained stiff in his place and avoided all the eye contact. He tried his best to act as if he wasn't even there- the less attraction to himself, the better after all.

This worked for all of 2 minutes before one of the men approached him.

"Hey kid! Aren't you the port mafia's famous rabid dog?" The man asked.

Akutagawa remained silent.

Approaching closer, the man continued.

"You look so lean and pretty that I almost mistaked you for a girl"

Remember akutagawa "no trouble"

"I thought the rabid dog was intimidating but never imagined it to be a such an attractive chick"

Akutagawa clenched his teeth, not liking where it was heading.

Control akutagawa. Control.

"How about we go there and have some fun alone."

The man said leaning closer to akutagawa and putting a hand on his shoulder.

That's when akutagawa snapped. He awakened roshomon and threw the man to the side.

The entire place went into chaos.

"You petty dog. How dare you!" The man shouted.

Akutagawa wasn't able to control himself anymore.

When he was about to attack the man again, roshomon backed down.
He turned to look when someone pulled him.

It was dazai.

Dazai dragged akutagawa out of the club. He pushed him to the side of a alley and slapped him.

"One simple instruction. You couldn't follow one simple instruction."

Dazai shouted and slapped akutagawa again.

"You couldn't do a simple thing I ask for you. I can't believe I brought in such a stupid dog. When will you start using your head?"

Dazai went on shouting and akutagawa just kept staring at the ground not saying anything.

Dazai gripped akutagawa's chin. "Look at me" dazai ordered.

Akutagawa looked up at dazai with a furious eyes.

Akutagawa was furious. He was really angry about the situation. He wanted to shout. Shout louder than dazai and yell at him. But he knew better what will follow that. So, instead he apologized.

"Im sorry Dazai san." He said and looked away.

Dazai stared at him for sometime and let him go.

"Go back" he said.

Akutagawa didn't say anything and left the place.

Back home, akutagawa didn't feel like eating. Gin was worried about her brother and forced him to eat. Akutagawa took few bites and left the table.

The incident today reminded akutagawa memories he didn't want to think about.
Living in the slums was not an easy task. There were many such situations back then too and in order to protect his sister, akutagawa took it all on himself.

That night, akutagawa threw up all he ate.

Next morning akutagawa felt better than last night.

He pulled himself together and went to meet dazai. He knew dazai would be disappointed in him. He was sure that dazai would no longer entrust him with important missions.That's why when he entered dazai's office, he was surprised.

"This mission is very important. I trust you to finish it properly." Dazai said handing over a file to akutagawa.

Akutagawa was so surprised that he couldn't believe what he heard.

"Have you finally gone deaf?" Dazai said looking at akutagawa "Get going".

Dazai said and walked over to his desk.

"Thank you dazai san" akutagawa said and left after bowing deeply.

Akutagawa felt happy that day.
