Lies [Dazai x Akutagawa]

Kidnapping dazai and chaining him in the basement was not a difficult task. Akutagawa was actually suprised by how easy it was and did have his suspicions. Dazai was not an easy man. Yet he decided to not think too much of it and go with the flow.

The way dazai favoured atushi over akutagawa even when he was captured and was staring eye to eye with akutagawa made something boil within him. Akutagawa tried to use his ability on his former mentor even though he knew it would be a futile attempt.

"I'm sure you probably already know the fate of those who are tied up here." Akutagawa said staring at the man in front of him.

"This brings back memories. It reminds me of when you were a rookie. " Dazai said with an ugly smirk on his face.

Yes. Akutagawa do remember about it. In fact he remembers it too well. He knows too well what happens in basement. He learnt it soo well from his personal experience with the help of the man hanging in front of him.

"You've committed serious crimes." Akutagawa continued "You suddenly abandoned your duties, disappeared, and now you're an enemy of the port mafia. It's hard to believe a former executive would do this. "

"And just what did your former superior do? " Dazai said his grin growing wider which only ticked akutagawa off. He was already on the edge and now dazai's attitude had only worsened it.

Akutagawa raised his fist and punched the man across his face.

"I see.. You're a big shot now. I can tell you now that it was difficult to train you. You were slow to understand, and often made arbitrary decisions. And that piece of crap ability of yours."

Akutagawa tightened his fists. But this time he did not punch. More likely, he could not. Something grew inside him that made him hold back...

He is not wrong...

Akutagawa clenched his teeth. "In a few days, we'll destroy the detective agency and take the weretiger. "

"I wonder if you can do that? My new subordinates are vastly superior to you. " That was the last thing dazai said before he had a temporary black out.

(Dazai's pov)

The last thing he saw was akutagawa's fist before the world blacked out. Akutagawa's face, notably his expression was quite an interesting one.  The face akutagawa made when dazai made all those comments about his ability and strength.Dazai knew. Dazai very well knew what akutagawa was feeling. How could he not. Akutagawa was not just some acquaintance after all. He was a kid that dazai personally moulded. He knows the expression too well and indeed it ticked something inside dazai that dazai couldn't figure out. Dazai was definitely a genius. But this was not his arena of expertise.

Dazai. No matter what akutagawa do dazai will never recognize him. Today's encounter slapped this harsh reality in his face. No matter what he does he will always be a worthless dog to him. Alll the events concluded to only one thing. He can never stand beside dazai.

"Long time no see my friend"

Akutagawa was walking down the streets of Yokohama when he heard a familiar voice. Fyoder.

"Hope you haven't forgotten about me. "

" So you're plotting as usual, huh? Wow, this is nice. What an incredible view!" Chuya said as walked down the stairs to the basement." I like your reaction. It makes me want to strangle you to death."
