Optimus x Pregnant Reader
--
As usual, the morning played out as it did. The name of the game was that we got the upper hand. Ratchet stayed with the console, monitoring every inch we called home. Bumblebee is scouting with Bulkhead to find the next vein or con group. They race on to see who can get more energy than the other—Arcee, possibly with one of the kids, most likely Jack, at work. Me, well, stuck at the base. After Optimus became sick, I was placed in the base. The Deception's found my location in Jasper and practically removed any existence of my dwelling ever being there.
Optimus is my guardian. After we all had seen what could happen with cons, my location carefully monitored at all times. Optimus is paranoid about Megatron getting his slimy servos on me. For what reason? Well, I am pregnant—a little set of twins—my babies. I was due soon, so it was a bit of a struggle not to be nervous around me. Even Bulkhead decided to lob in another room when I was in the central bay (Which brought Ratchet to the decision to bring me in more for peace). My pregnancy brought a lot of questions, guessing cybertronians didn't procreate as humans did. Guessing their chances to get pregnant were slim, I decided to indulge them.
Several weeks after my last ultrasound, it was time for another one. Optimus was beside me as I lay on the medical bed, ready for my monthly check-up with nurses Darby and Ratchet. The cool gel on my belly made me shiver, and I felt Optimus tense at my movement. I had become attuned to his moods, and he was clearly uncomfortable. He tried to hide it, but it was like watching a child trying to hide his distaste from his mother. I patted his arm, offering a reassuring smile.
"It's okay, I promise I am fine. Besides, now that I am in the actual medical bay, you wont have to worry as much." But this barely did anything to ease his discomfort. I had to warn him what would happen so he wouldn't panic out of the blue, how my water would break, and the pain that I would feel. But with Darby, I was more than sure I would be fine. Ratchet hums as Darby uses the equipment to look at the twins. She smiles as she looks them over.
"Two healthy children. One boy and one girl. Everything should go as planned. Just remember that now that you are close, you should rest more." With a groan, I look at her with a pout. I was trying to lighten the mood from the tense atmosphere. She laughs and shakes her head in amusement, having seen this possibly a hundred times in the hospital.
"You mean I can't do my yoga anymore? The downward dog seemed so fun about now!" The joke went unnoticed by Optimus and Ratchet as none laughed but Darby. She looked over with an amused smile and handed me a wipe to remove the gel. I was so glad that the cold gel was off my baby bump.
"Sure, while at it, you can do gymnastics and run a marathon—the usual pregnant woman's routine. " I laugh lightly, her banter always bringing a small smile. Optimus smiles and helps me sit up, and I push my oversized hoodie over my baby bump. He stood by me as she made her last assessment and looked at us.
"Now, you are due soon, so I don't want to hear anything about intercourse till after the birth to lessen complications. Optimus, she is very healthy, and you can be at ease knowing she will give a healthy birth. I will be happy to invite the first two interspecies children to this world." The last check-up was before my supposed birth date. I look up and kiss Optimus's cheek, seeing his dermas stretch to the soft smile he usually gave me after these appointments.
"Thank you, nurse Darby. I am thankful for your help in aiding us." I nod, standing up, Optimus immediately following and holding me as if I were porcelain. He had been acting like this since the beginning of the pregnancy, but it got worse as time progressed. Now, I wasn't even allowed to walk around without Optimus having to be present or any other bot. When they said this was rare on their planet, I didn't think it was so rare that even Primus had to be present. It was nice to be cherished, but this was a new level.
We left with a bye, Optimus getting out of his bipedal form and into his actual transformation. Extending his servo to me, I crawled onto it and huffed as I could feel my body relaxing more. My spine ached a bit from the weight of the babies on it.
"Just to think, in a few more weeks, I will have two little ones in my hands—a boy and girl, Orion and Olivia." Optimus smiles as he walks towards our shared room.
"They will be as beautiful as you, my little sweet spark."
"Says the one who doesn't need to put effort into his appearance. Nothing about makeup is natural." The deep, amused rumble leaving his chest left butterflies in my stomach; how could he be so charming so easily? Sometimes I could be at a loss for words, but he seemed to have every response in that processor of his.
"Beauty of your personality I mean."
"Even that has makeup at times. How do you think I am able to talk to Ratchet without biting back at him?" This made us both laugh. The hormones were causing me to bite back more towards the bots and kids. These nine months were rough, having to regulate hormones that caused me to bite back. But it was worth it now that I will have two of my little ones in my arms. The line of Primes continues.
He places me on the berth, and I find my spot, curled up next to him with my head resting on his pillow. I watch as Optimus transforms into his bipedal form, the tantalizing deconstruction leading to his smaller form. A giggle leaves me as he moves over and lays his helm on my baby bump. After reading a lot about pregnancy, he heard that talking to the baby would help to grow a relationship with them further. So, every night, he has one small conversation with them, telling them his plans for us and what he wants for his life. Since Cybertron wasn't exactly human-friendly, he would move to Earth instead.
I asked if this was what he really wanted, and he has asked many times even now, but the answer is always the same: "Home is where we are."
"How are you sure they listen to you, my love?"
"Because my spark glows when I am near them." I curled a brow up and pursed my lips.
"Are you sure that it is not just gas?" Shaking his head, amused, he wrapped his arms around my form, his eyes gazing into mine. But, as he was about to retort, I felt a kick to my bladder, making me whine a little.
"Yeah- They're listening." I scoff a laugh, leaving a slight chuckle to leave him. How dare he laugh when he did this to me?
Optimus leans down as usual and kisses the baby bump, leaning his helm on the bump and smiling. This was his haven. Me in his arms, babes so close to him that it makes his spark sing. He is happy, and I am, too. His tone lowered as he quoted; he didn't want to scare them.
"Hello, my sweet sparks. I hope your carrier hasn't been bothering you too much today. I know she can be unique at times." I laugh and lightly smack his servo, and he mimics my smile.
"Once this war is over, we will go to the forest. We will all live in a cottage where we can be in serenity. Your mother has already planned to make a garden so we can help. I will teach you of my home, teach you of my language, teach you of who your sire is. We will be together, and that will be enough." I smile, the thought ringing tears to my eyes.
A mech who was so loving and soft, having seen the horrors of war, wanting nothing more than to be with his family in the end. It was natural, it seemed, in all life forms. His arms tightened as he dreamed of his life in nothing but peace. But in my eyes... I was already at peace. Sitting up more, I pull him up and kiss him softly on his dermas, the touch sending soft, thrilling shocks down my spine. This was our haven.
