I forgot that bugs were worse than I thought. The spring day was pretty decent, and the location I picked was perfect for everyone. It was Autobot-friendly so they could be in their bot forms, a large lake for the kids, and more isolated from the public so the place wasn't trashed. But because of the lake, mosquitos laid eggs. I hated that part.
Miko was already setting up a campsite for us, helping Jack with the tents while I looked around for dangerous items. Optimus stuck closer as I looked around, grabbing broken glass if I saw any and a can or two. The spot was hidden, but a few people had known about it for years. Optimus is helping me pick up some of it.
"Optimus, do you think the group would want to see a herd of deer's soon?" When I posed it to him, he seemed more excited by the idea, his eyes widening and his optics brightening. I let out a small chuckle as I got up and walked over to the rest of the group.
"Well, now that everything is set up, we can get going here. I may have picked up where a few places to check out." Excited and ready to get going, the team quickly got up and dropped whatever they were doing. Before we left, I had to get a few things. Optimus and I dropped out "trash" into a pile and grabbed my bag. I hadn't told anyone what was in it yet.
"Let's go, big warning though my friends. The hike up might be a bit difficult." They didn't seem to care as the bots were big enough for this world to see everything as miniature to them.

.The hike up was just as I said it would be. Long and harsh. Miko ended up getting on Bulkhead's shoulder to keep her energy. Jack was like me, taking a challenge despite Bulkhead's kind offer to carry us. Even Optimus asked if I wanted to sit in his palm, but I declined. This time, I was the leader of this mission. We took the way I knew, and it was better to navigate if I had the perspective of being on the ground.
"Are you sure it's this way, Y/n? I swear we have been walking for a while now, and this is pretty high up from the camping ground." Maybe everyone was doubtful that I was taking them the right way. Miko is very impatient to see the herd. Despite having seen them before, anyone would be happy to see one after a while.
"I'm sure. I picked the camping spot because that's where I used to fish with my pa. This is the way. You can tell because of all the berry bushes." Pointing to the side, I show off the big bushes of ripe berries. Some are not as full as the others, showing signs of life eating them.
"They're eaten. We're close." Miko squeals happily, and I just shake my head at the sound. How fun was it to show Earth's wonders to a group of individuals. My mind at ease as I was in my proper element for once. . . suddenly, I heard it. Leaves rustling. I stopped and made an "ah" sound, which stopped everyone. Dropping my bag to the ground softly, I walk further on some empty patches without leaves.
The rustling grew louder as I approached a clearing. I stopped at the tree line and smiled as I saw it—the herd. Signaling the group to come, I signaled again to tell them to walk quietly. The bots could get a better look as they were taller, gazing down at the group of deer's—all grazing amongst the grass, their little family wandering without worry of danger.
