Felicity's heart pounded in their chest as they looked around the room. The aftermath of the battle had left everyone shaken, and the air was thick with worry. Nathan lay on a makeshift bed, his face pale and slick with sweat. Bree was at his side, dabbing at his forehead with a damp cloth. Rin hovered nearby; their usual calm demeanour replaced with an anxious frown.

Nathan's breathing was shallow, and every wince he made sent a pang of fear through Felicity. They knew the wound was bad, but they had no idea how much worse it could get. They exchanged a glance with Callum, who looked as worried as they felt. Nathan was strong, but even the strongest could fall.

Bree glanced up at Rin and managed a small smile. "Thanks for staying," she said softly. Rin nodded, their eyes softening as they looked at Nathan.

"We're all in this together," Rin replied. They reached out and squeezed Bree's shoulder. "He's tough. He'll pull through."

Felicity watched the exchange, a faint sense of relief washing over them. Bree and Rin had grown closer, finding comfort in each other amidst the chaos. It was a small ray of light in the darkness.

Across the room, Pete was pacing. He had been in and out of the room where Elliott lay, the weight of worry and fear etched deeply into his features. Felicity could see the strain in his movements, the way his shoulders sagged under an invisible burden.

A soft sob drew their attention, and they turned to see Pete standing in the doorway of Elliott's room, tears streaming down his face. Felicity's heart clenched. The silence in the room was deafening as Pete's sobs grew louder, more desperate.

"He's gone," Pete choked out, his voice breaking. "Elliott's gone."
