Error's POV
As I cried on Ink's shoulder, I felt him gently place a hand on my cheek. I moved my hand up and rested it over his. We sat together in silence for a few minutes just being in one another's company.
Ink leaned back against the headboard of his bed, adjusting me with him. My head laid on his chest which allowed me to hear his soulbeat. My senses were enveloped by Ink's sweet vanilla and cocoa scent, it brought peace to me.
Ink: Tell me what is wrong, Error.
He said, wiping away a few of my tears.
Me: How can I protect you... if I cannot protect my own kingdom?
I asked. Several responses went through Ink's mind but he decided not to say anything.
Me: I wish I was stronger. I let fifteen of my people be slaughtered by those wolves.
Ink: Everything will be okay. We can only move forward and grow from here.
Me: I hope. I am afraid that the tension has been broken between us and the werewolves. They made an attack on us during a night that was special. Most of me wants to retaliate with everything but a small part of me does not wish to make this war any worse however, this will only be resolved when there is a winner.
I spoke out however, I never received a response or even thoughts. Looking up I had saw that Ink had fallen asleep.
Me: I am sorry, my love. You must have been exhausted.
It was probably best if I went to my own bedroom but I wanted to listen to Ink's soulbeat and smell the intoxicating vanilla for a little bit longer.

Ink's POV
The sound of the door opening woke me from gentle sleep. From the sound of movement in my room, I assumed that it was Beatrice cleaning my room for the morning. Releasing a sigh, I cuddled closer into the pillow that I was hugging as I was not ready to get out of bed yet.
Beatrice: Good morning, your grace... and your majesty.
Me: Good morning.
I responded tiredly to her. After a few seconds I finally realized that she also spoke Error's title. I opened my eyes and found that the pillow I was hugging was not actually a pillow, it was Error. My face felt instantly warm and my rainbow blush was most likely very noticeable.
Time seemed to stop as we laid there. The vampire looked so peaceful in his sleep however his grip around me told a different story. His arms were tightly wrapped around me, keeping me close to him. Surprisingly his body was quite cold in comparison to a mortal's body temperature.
'His soulbeat is so slow, it is like he is always on the verge of death. He also does not smell of anything.'
Despite the differences of a vampiric body, I felt relaxed and safe in Error's embrace. If I was being honest I did not want this peaceful moment to end.
Error: Neither do I.
He suddenly spoke, making me realized that he could have been listening to all that I was thinking about him.
Me: You were listening this whole time?
I asked loudly as I tried to push myself away from him out of embarrassment. Unsurprisingly, vampires are really strong. I was unable to break free of Error's hold. He only smiled slyly at me, seeming to find my fruitless attempts amusing.
'He does not look to be using much effort in keeping me trapped.'
Error: I am not. This is easy.
Me: Stop doing that! Free me of this entrapment!
A hurt yet playful expression showed of his face.
Error: I thought you felt safe in my arms and that you did not want this moment to end?
Error said as his sly grin spread across his face again. He tightened his grip around me which led to there being no room left between us.
Me: That was before I found out you were in my head!
Eventually I gave up in trying to break free, accepting my fate of being trapped. We laid there quiet for a few seconds before it was broken by Beatrice.
Beatrice: Do you wish for me to leave?
I had actually forgotten she was there.
Me: No, we are finished. What time it is?
Beatrice: It is eight o'clock. Breakfast is being prepared for you at this moment. Also, may I ask what your plans are?
She asked, causing us to sit up in attention.
Error: At night, I will head to the edge of the kingdom and look at the burnt houses. I will also visit the families of the deceased and possible injured. I want you to join me as well, Ink.
He stood up from the bed and adjusted his clothes.
Error: I want you and Xander to send letters to the lords informing them of the werewolf attack. And unfortunately we need to...
Start preparing for war
