Error's POV

The royal guards looked around as they attempted to find what they were looking for. Moonlight peeked through the leaves and glinted off their silver shields.

I growled quietly as the light was reflected into my eyes.

I knew that the guards were sent by my father to bring me back to the castle. However, Ink was with me and I couldn't risk him getting caught.

Resting my head against Ink's shoulder, I listened carefully. The smell of Ink's sweet blood filled my senses. I could feel my vampiric self awaken within me.

My eyes glanced at Ink's neck. I was tempted to sink my untrained fangs into him and satisfy the sudden appearance of hunger.

Shaking my head, I was able to keep myself controlled. My focus shouldn't be on feeding.

The voice of the guards broke the silence of the forest.

Guard: Please allow us to escort you back to the castle, your majesty. The sun will be up soon and it's not safe out here.

Ink looked at me with a confused expression which I knew instantly what he was thinking about.

The guards eventually gave up and walked away. The breath that I seemed to have been holding was released. Ink jumped down from the tree limb with me following soon after.

Ink: You're royalty?

My mind refused to create words. I never wanted to reveal my true society status to him. I just wanted Ink to like me and treat me like a normal person.

Excepting defeat, I nodded slowly while finding interest for the ground.

Me: I never wanted you to know.

Ink: Why did you not tell me?

Me: I'm not allowed to leave the castle because of my father, the king. Before I met you, I had never met anyone outside the walls of my home. Everyone treats me like some concept because I am a prince. I want to know what it is like to be normal. You... Ink... make me feel normal.

Ink's cheeks gradually became covered in rainbow blush. He looked away after my confession about my true self.

I walked towards him, gently grabbing his hands. Ink whispered quietly.

Ink: I am sorry for not respecting you, your majesty.

Me: Just call me by my name. I don't want your respect. I want your friendship.

There seemed a tiny smile that showed on Ink's face. I was going to speak but I heard the yells of the guards. They found us.

Metal clanking rang throughout the trees as they ran towards us. I pushed Ink away, trying to get him away from me. However he grabbed my hand and began pulling me as he sprinted.

I looked behind us, seeing the guards running quickly in our trail. We took several twists and turns around the forest to lose them. Luckily, we were able to leave them behind for a small amount of time.

My eyes caught the fact that Ink was taking us to his mansion. Ink guided me to the vine covered the wall. I gripped the green plants and lifted myself up.

Once both of us were safe inside, Ink closed the window and curtains. He turned around with a shocked expression. While he unpacked his satchel, I admired his bedroom.

The walls were painted a light beige and there were sliver emblems decorating the pillars. Bookshelves didn't have books, instead replacing them with rolled up paintings and stacks of unfinished sketches. A fireplace was to the opposite wall of the bed and was accompanied with a violet cushioned chair.

Everything within this bedroom was brighter than the blackness of my own. It somewhat hurt my eyes to look around as I was not used to light colors.

An easel stood near the middle, holding a canvas on it. It wasn't finished as it only had blended colors of purple and orange. There was also the sun on the painting. Mother described the bright ball to me but I personally had never seen it as I couldn't be in its presence.

Ink sighed tiredly while he picked out a few paints and brushes. He walked over to the canvas, beginning to work on the carefully constructed painting. I stood behind him and watched his hand glide elegantly.

My senses were filled with the sweet irony scent of Ink's blood once more. I felt my eyes slightly glow red and my tongue lick my fangs. Hunger overcame me, causing me to open my mouth and lean towards Ink's neck. I was desperate for the taste to be on my tongue.

I was losing control of my vampiric self quickly. I shook my head and backed away. There was fear in my soul as I grew scared of myself. If I can't stay in control now then what would it be like when...
