"I'll see you later guys."

"Sure ka bang hindi ka sasama muna mag-lunch we can hit library naman after?" Nat asked again ng makalabas na kami ng lecture hall. Monday morning our classes started at 9 AM, it's already 11:30 AM, pero hindi pa ako nagugutom and I have to work on a design problem. We have 3 hours vacant.

"It's okay guys, busog pa 'ko. See you na lang sa susunod na class. Don't worry, I'll message you if may ipapatake out ako." I assured them.

Tumango si James, "Sige, if mauna ka sa class, save us a seat."

I chuckled, that's what always happens.

"Copy, if only you promise hindi ka magka-cut class for some monkey business."

James smirked and shrugged, leaning back against the wall. "To my knowledge, I'm not cutting class for monkey ones. They're all hot, by the way." His eyes sparkled with a mischievous glint, clearly enjoying the scolding.

I rolled my eyes, but couldn't suppress a smile
"Just promise me you won't get into trouble."

"Scout's honor," James replied, holding up three fingers in a mock salute. "I'll keep it clean. No monkey business, only serious study sessions with hot classmates."

"James," Yim admonished, but his laughter betrayed her. "You never change."

"Wouldn't dream of it," he said, winking at Yim. I just shook my head and waved goodbye to them before heading to the library.

I picked a spot on the farthest corner of the library. I started to place the blueprints, my sketches and textbooks on the large table, wala naman siguro magrereklamo that I occupied the whole table kasama to sa tuition na binabayaran ng parents ko at isa pa di naman jampacked ang library today.

After a good 15 minutes, nakatulala na lang ako. My laptop is open, but I am stuck, I bet my face creased in frustration as I stares at my architecture assignment. I let out let out an exasperated sigh, rubbing my temples as I tried to make sense of the complex design problem in front of me. The noise of the library seemed to fade into the background as I focused intently on the screen, my mind swirling with confusion.

Napahikab ako dahil apat na oras lang din ang tulog ko, antok na nga confuse pa. Palihim akong nag-unat para magising.

"Ang gusto ko tulog bakit naman ako bibigyan ng nervous breakdown?" I muttered under my breath. I bat my eyes to stay awake.

Mas lalong nalukot ang mukha ko ng wala talagang idea ang pumapasok sa isip ko. "Who knew drawing lines could be so infuriating?"

At this point the only solution I could think of is to shift to another course. Joke. Motherfucking joke.

"Is this seat taken?" a low baritone voice asked, breaking the silence that enveloped the surrounding.

My gaze fixated on the laptop, where the blinking cursor mocked my lack of progress on the assignment.

"I'm not taken, nor is the seat, but I prefer being alone, so choose another table," I replied, my tone sharper than intended, my frustration evident.
