it's going down

Rai rolls her shoulders as she steps out of the vehicle, her Manager following after her as she walks into the company building. They had come to meet the other cast members and to do a table read of the script for the first episode of the drama.

"Rai, there you are." Dae-ho says, pushing away from the wall he had been leaning against. Rai chuckles as he falls into step next to her, smirking at the boy.

"Ong Dae-ho, were you waiting for me?" She asks, tilting her head at him. Dae-ho's eyes widen slightly before he looks away, Rai noticing how his ears turn a bright red colour.

The pair walk into the meeting room, their managers chatting happily between themselves as they follow the two actors into the room where the other cast members are already gathered. Rai glances around the room, her eyes finding Lee Heeseung where he sits. The boy looks up from the papers in front of him, their eyes meeting.

Rai lets out a shout as a fiery pain shoots through the side of her neck, her brain barely registering the frantic sounds of the room around her as her knees completely give out from underneath her. Rai claws at the side of her neck, trying to stop whatever seemed to be burning into her skin. She feels strong arms wrap around her in a protective hold as her body tilts, lifting her head slightly to see that Heeseung had somehow made his way across the room just in time to catch her.

Both Heeseung and Rai were breathing hard, blood soaking into the collar of the boy's hoodie. His free hand touches her cheek, the fire burning under her skin seeming to fade away as soon as his skin makes contact with hers. Rai practically melts against him, the entire room falling quiet as they just stand together.

"Rai? What just happened?" Dae-ho asks, his voice shaking slightly as though he were afraid. Rai turns her head slightly, looking at him through her spotty vision.

Soulmate. Her brain screams at her, her body tensing at the word. She straightens, Heeseung's arms still holding her close to him.

"She's my soulmate." He says, his voice raspy. Rai watches Dae-ho's eyes widen as he takes a step back, his gaze going between the marks that had been burned into the their skin.

"I will admit, that's very convenient." The producer says as he stands from his seat at the end of the long meeting table, both Heeseung and Rai glancing at each other.
