Living in your brother's shadow can be very hard.
You're always just the second best and your older sibling is always the first.
They're first in everything.
That's exactly how Rindou Haitani feels.
He loves his brother with his whole heart. But he feels envy for him. He has everything he wishes to have, even tho Ran is sweating balls to give the same things to Rindou.
No matter what happens he will always care for Ran, and Ran will always care for him.
It's them against the world.
They were always just them two, and they always will be.
But Rindou still needs his little alone time. That's why he has a routine to go to the same vending machine alone everyday twice.
And it was calming for him. No one dared to approach him. They were scared of him. So he always had time to think.
And he always took the sweet time to do so, knowing no one was brave enough to interrupt him.
Or so he thought.
"Excuse me" Rindou was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a gentle voice behind him. "Are you gonna continue your staring contest with the vending machine or do you want me to leave you with it? It seems like I interrupted your little romantic moment.""Huh?" Rindou turned around, a little pissed that someone talked to him like that. When he turned around he saw a girl around his age. "Who're you?"
"Uhmm... Someone who also would like to use the vending machine" she answered back with a straight face.
"Hey, do you know who he is? You better get away from him" someone came beside her and whispered loud enough for Rindou to hear too.
"I apologise for my friend, she has a weird habit of getting into trouble. I'll keep her away, continue Rindou" another came beside the girl and started dragging her. Or at least tried. She wouldn't budge no matter how hard the two tried.
"I'm assuming he's someone who wants to use the vending machine. But so do I" she answered back calmly. "And I have no idea who you two are either."
"He's Rindou Haitani. The younger one of the Haitani brothers. They're the rulers of Roppongi" one of the girls whispered in the h/n-ette's ear.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"Who?"
Now this was surprising for the younger Haitani. There were times people didn't recognise him or they just simply didn't know how he looked like.
But he never ever has met anyone who doesn't know him at all.
Usually he would get mad when someone talks to him like that, as if he was just another student, forgetting that he's one of the most dangerous delinquents.
But he wasn't mad this time. This was new to him.
"He's the brother of Ran Haitani" the other one whispered and tried again to pull the h/c-ette away, once again failing. But she also pissed of Rindou.
'Again, just the brother of Ran. Even when he's not here.'
"Am I supposed to know them?" she asked.
"Yes" both of the girls yelled at her. But then they saw the pissed off look on Rindou's face and they just left before they would lose their lives.
"So..." the girl started. "Should I leave or can I order or at least stand 'in line' for the vending machine?"
"I'll get something first" Rindou looked at the girl and answered.
"Are there people who don't know us, brother?" Rindou asked Ran as they were sitting in silence.
"I don't think so. Everyone knows and fears us" Ran shrugged.
'Everyone but her, huh?'
'Interesting...'
