Rhaenys chambers

Rhaenys was in her room. She had tried to get out earlier, but she was locked in under the orders of the hand. Taeron had just found out from Larys and went to explain to her the situation. He opened the door and entered her room.

"I will do you the considerable courtesy of assuming that there is a good reason for the outrage of my treatment this morning." Rhaenys angrily stated.

"Yes, well, forgive the hand, for he's making impulsive decisions, but I do hope will not change your feelings towards me and that you would still attend the funeral." Taeron said.

Rhaenys was surprised. This could only mean one thing. "The king?" She asked, and Taeron nodded.

"I seek your council." Taeron said.

"What council could I give you that your new council cannot?" The queen who never was asked.

"Vaegon. His reaction to my mothers death made him mad. This might affect him even more, and I worry for his state of mind, which is why I had a letter sent to him." Taeron said.

"You're worried that he might try to usurp the throne?" She inquired.

"Make no mistake, I do not agree with my council, but I refuse to be caught by surprise from anyone, family or no. My fathers last wish was for me to rule without challenge, and I don't know what to do with that. What I do know is that you have a choice to make." Taeron said.

"And what choice is that?" Rhaenys asked.

"Baela and Rhaena. Should war come, they will make a choice, but you can save them from their father. Your great grandchild is my grandchild, and in line to the throne, he will be safe here, as will Vaela, Baela, and Rhaena." Taeron said.

"You would use me to ensure House Velaryons' support?" She asked.

"No, I don't want to fight. I do not want a war or death, but I'm prepared for if that day should come." Taeron said. "The truth is you should've been queen. I see what wearing a crown did to my father. He was a good man, but a weak king, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone."

"I never thought I'd hear that from you, Taeron, and if I refuse your offer?" Rhaenys asked.

"Then I can not help what comes after." Taeron turned to leave.

"What of my dragon?" She asked.

"No harm will come to Meleys. You have my word. You can stay here until you've made your decision." Taeron assured her.

"Am I your prisoner?" Rhaenys asked.

"No. You can roam as free as you please, you wish to enable Vaegons madness, go. Just remember the blood that he spills will be on your hands as well." Taeron said and walked to the door.

"You're wiser than I thought... Taeron Targaryen." She said.

"A true king counts the cost of his people." He said and left the room.

Street of Silk

Accompanied by Lord commander Harrold, Prince Taeron walked the street of silk and sat on a beach waiting for the woman who dared to summon him. He had finally arrived and sat down on the opposite side.

"So, your the mysterious White Worm, I take it, or are you just a further peek in this...stinking onion?" Taeron toyed with Mysaria.

She smirked. "My condolences on the passing of your father." She knew how to hurt Taeron, but he was here for his son now. Nothing else mattered, but Rhaegars safety.

Taeron got serious. "Where's my son?"

"I thought the young prince would be in Flee Bottom where no one is to be trusted, such a dutiful boy, buying something for his wife, I'd best secrete him somewhere safe in case someone comes looking for him." Mysaria said.
