Taeron and Alicents chambers

Taeron had just come from a small council meeting, and she found Alicent lying in their bed as he walked closer. He saw a four month Aegon drinking milk from his mother's teat.

"I see the future heir is hungry again." Taeron said.

"It's strange that he wasn't this hungry when I was carrying him." Alicent chuckled. "How was your meeting?"

"They wish to hold a celebration for the young prince. I told them that they should wait till he's older." Taeron said. He then laid on his side of the bed.

"You seem worried." Alicent noticed.

Taeron sighed and turned to face his wife. "I never knew how much I wanted what we have until it was in my hands. I'm afraid to fail you."

"You will never fail me, my love. I've always known that I would have to accept that you are the most important person in the realm. I live with no regrets." Alicent said.

Taeron looked at his now sleeping son and smiled. "We should have more."

Alicent chuckled. "At the very least, wait for him to grow a little more."

Taeron smiled and placed his finger on Aegons hand. The 4 month old babe then gripped his father's finger. "I've never understood true happiness until you, Alicent. Thank you."

"I'm happy that I brought that out in you, Taeron." Alicent said. The prince and his consort spent the rest of the night watching their son sleep.

Present day

Taeron looked at Alicent as she was sleeping. He remembered all the good she brought out in him and how happy she made with bearing their 6 children. He wanted to fly to Dragonstone and call Vaegon out and kill him, but he had to think about what would happen if he lost the fight. His wife, children, and grandchildren would suffer under Vaegon. All would suffer as long as a Vaegon lives

Rhaegar and Heleanas chambers

Rhaegar was lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling. Jaehaera and Maelor were sleeping with them, and Rhaegar didn't sleep at all.

"How long have you been awake?" Heleana asked.

Rhaegar sighed. "I never slept. I had too much on my mind."

"Tell me." Heleana urged.

Rhaegar got out of bed and dressed himself. He then walked to his table and poured himself a cup of wine. Heleana could see that the table already had a few cups of wine on it, which meant that Rhaegar spent most of the night drinking.

"I want to fly to Dragonstone and kill Vaegon." Rhaegar said.

Heleana carefully got out of bed, not waking her children, and walked to Rhaegar. "Please, Rhaegar, don't do this. You still have us to think about."

"That is precisely why I wish to go. None of our children are safe as long as Vaegon lives." Rhaegar said. "I've given Father the chance, but now I will do what I must to protect my family."

"Please, Rhaegar. I beg you. Don't go." Heleana was in tears. Rhaegar cupped his wife's cheek with one hand. "I can't lose you."

Rhaegar held his tears back. "I love you, Heleana. If you wish for me to stay, I will." Rhaegar them kissed his wife and hugged her.

Small council chambers

An hour later, all members except for King Taeron were in the small council. This was Ser Harrolds' first meeting as Hand, and if he was honest. He was nervous.
