The doctor had returned everyone was impatient, he was worried about Cale.

Once he'd done an examination of the redhead he returned to them.

"So?" Eruhaben asked.

"As I said, she's getting worse. We have to get her more air or her body will run out of oxygen, her fever's still rising and her pulse is too fast. I'm going to give him the painkiller I told you about to make him rest, a medicine to calm his heart and something else for his fever, even if it doesn't seem to be working, I don't see any other solution for the moment. I'm warning you right now that there's a risk with the medication."

"Yes, you can do it."

Of course they agreed, but what else could they do?

Once the family had given their consent, the doctor did what he had told them to do, inserting infusions for the medication and intubating him for a higher oxygen intake. As the doctor treated him, he could see a thin trail of blood running down his nose.

"It looks like he's bleeding now..." The doctor said in a low voice with a frown, but the others heard him clearly.

"Is it serious? " Eruhaben asked worried the others were silent they let the dragon handle the situation.

"The presence of blood is never a good sign in general... didn't you say his powers caused bleeding ? "

"Yes, but they're much more important."

"You haven't found the cause of this fever? "

"Unfortunately, no. We've asked everyone who knows him, but no one has been able to help us".

"Can we ask Sheritt-nim again?" Alberu suggested.

"She won't be able to come all the way here, and given Cale's condition, he won't be able to move either." He seemed to have reached an impasse.

During their conversation they could hear the sound of the magic stone.

The doctor returned to Cale.

"It looks like his pulse is weak."

"Why all of a sudden? "

"I've already told you, his body is too weak, the medication must have been too much for him."

"His pulse keeps dropping, he'll end up in cardiac arrest at this rate." The doctor was panicked, as was everyone else in the room the children were crying again, afraid of losing their guardians.

Inside Cale's head. The old powers were talking to each other.

-Can't you get rid of the things he gave her? The super rock asked for the vitality of the heart.

-It's not a poison I can't treat it.

-What about the other symptoms?

-The fever may be a little but I'm sure one part is due to her fatigue and I can't do anything about that, while the other part comes from her ability, I'm not sure I can do anything about it as it's not from our world and it's a side effect of her use.

-If you try, what happens?

-He'll spit blood in any case, even if it doesn't work.

-*sigh* I don't think that's a good idea here.

- He's not going to die, is he? Water asked a little hesitantly.

-I'd do anything to keep him alive!

-But there's literally nothing you can do here! The thief became a little annoyed.

-...

-You don't even know what to say!

-...

The fire gave up and they remained silent.

Back to the others

"What should we do?"

"Normally we'd give him a drug that will speed up his pulse but his body is weak it might be too fast afterwards"

"We'll just wait until he dies then!!!" Eruhaben was getting annoyed with the seemingly useless doctor.

"No, I'll just give it to him and hope nothing happens."

His pulse continued to drop as he debated, the magic stone almost extinguished.

"I can't feel his pulse! "The doctor declared in panic.

The room went quiet, they were stunned with fear they were so close to losing Cale.

"We've got to resuscitate him right away! Sir, can you come and help me? "He addressed the long-haired blond.

Eruhaben came over to the doctor and entrusted the children to the crown prince. They remained calm, not wanting to disturb the adults when the situation was so serious.

"I'll take care of his heart, if you can inject him gradually with adrenalin."

Eruhaben nodded. The doctor began giving him cardiac massage to try and recover a pulse.

"You can do it." He gave the dragon the signal. Eruhaben injected some of the medicine.

The doctor kept trying to resuscitate him for the next 3 minutes, with Eruhaben injecting the medicine little by little.

« There's still nothing.» He was afraid he wouldn't be able to do anything and would have to tell everyone that the young commander was dead.

"How long..." He didn't want to finish his question no he couldn't do it it was too hard for him to do but fortunately the doctor understood.

"Another 2 minutes...and it'll be too late..."

The others heard him, the Prince's pupils trembling like his whole body, he couldn't lose his little brother. The children too, clutching at the Prince's clothes for comfort, despite his condition, he took the time to comfort them.

"Don't worry Cale's strong, he's the strongest person I know, he'll be back." Alberu said with certainty, even though he too was very scared, they had to believe in him.

Meanwhile, the other two continued for another 2 minutes.

« Still nothing.» The doctor was becoming exhausted it was difficult for him to maintain such a difficult effort for so long.

"I... I think we have to stop it's too late... even if we continue he may have a pulse but no other vital functions his body hasn't been oxygenated for a while even with the intubation... I'm sorry." The doctor said in all sincerity he really wanted to help him after all he had saved everyone it was the least he could do but even then there was nothing he could do.

"Please, no...no, I don't want to lose my human!" Raon heard him and cried even louder, his mana had become chaotic and he didn't bother to try and control himself anymore. If he wasn't there, what was the point of continuing to live, after all he'd said it several times without his human he'd destroy everything and then himself.

"Raon! Stop it Cale wouldn't want that, he wouldn't want you to hurt yourself or anyone else. Our family is still here and so is Cale. Keep going!" Eruhaben tried to talk to the little black dragon to calm him down and to the doctor instead of a request it was more of an order. He didn't want to lose his son either, yes he recognized a human as his son and he didn't want to lose him.

The black mana was still there, but this time it was under control. And of course the doctor obeyed the dragon, how could he refuse with the dragon's fear directed directly at him.

"Very well, but-"

"Say no more." This time, the dragon's pupils were golden, and he too could become uncontrollable, an old dragon was more dangerous than a young one.

He said nothing more and resumed his work, which lasted another 2 minutes, but still nothing.

« I've got to tell them that this time it's over, he's dead...» He certainly didn't have the heart to do it, or even the desire, he was already afraid of being killed.
