"The human is moving! I felt it, he's waking up!" Raon already had tears in his eyes, he had missed his human.
Ron went to call the doctor to come check on Cale, to make sure everything was okay. They didn't want to risk anything anymore. They didn't even approach him while waiting for the doctor to come.
The doctor came quickly to do a check-up, he told them he was fine now that everything was normal. Just a little more rest and above all not to overwork yourself like that anymore.
The doctor left with that. Cale's family took the doctor's last words to heart, of course they will never let this happen again. They will force him to rest even if they have to use force.
With mutual agreement they cautiously approached the bed. Cale finally opened his eyes, it took him a few seconds to remember everything. He looked around, he was surprised to see everyone near him especially Duke Deruth. The expression on his face no longer showed any anger, rather worry and joy. He didn't understand the change, he still remembered the words the duke had said to him.
Deruth, who saw that Cale was looking at him, spoke up.
"Son...I'm sorry...I shouldn't have...talked to you like that."
Cale got stuck on the word son, Deruth had just accepted it?
"Why?..." He asked confused.
"I know the whole truth and I was able to meet Kim Rok Soo thanks to the god of death. And I found out that I have four children now." Deruth said with a smile.
Cale was shocked, for once this god was useful. He unconsciously had a real smile on his face. And his eyes threatened to cry, a huge weight was lifted from his shoulders. He felt relieved.
"If... if you want to help the others, I'll help you... I'm sure they will be less stupid than me..." Deruth said it with a smile.
Cale nodded well he couldn't refute those words.
"Thank you..." He said it silently, but loud enough for everyone to hear. Deruth stroked her hair, to tell her that he had heard her. Cale is secretly leaning on the touch. But no one pointed it out.
"I'm sorry too Cale for what I did...I hurt you several times..." An apology came from the golden dragon, even though he had already said it. Now that Cale was better, it was time to do it right.
He continued more cautiously this time, but Cale must have known. They don't want to hide anything from him.
"The god of death gave all your memories to the duke, and he told me about it... don't worry I won't ask you anything if you don't want to."
Cale quickly looked up with pupils twitching.
"Why...this useless god!" His question quickly became an insult.
"I kinda...annoyed him so et's say he got revenge." Deruth was embarrassed by his past actions, he would have liked to slap himself at the time himself.
Cale lowered his head and bit his lips, no one should have seen his memories. He felt exposed, and above all.
"They must think I'm a selfish and bad person..." Were the thoughts running through his head.
He heard the ancient powers trying to comfort him.
"Cale, what's wrong? You do not feel well ?" Eruhaben asked at Cale's sudden change. He was happy before so why does he seem so distressed now?
The others all had the same question but they let the dragon do it.
The kittens and the black dragon approached him to comfort him.
He didn't answer right away so they already wanted to go call the doctor back.
"You've seen my memories... I'm really trash, aren't I?" He said this but didn't look at them, he didn't want to meet their expression of disgust.
A heavy silence echoed in the room before several sighs were heard. He flinched when he heard them.
"Cale-nim, we would never think that!" Choi han told him with conviction.
He could see the others nodding.
Deruth approached him, he wanted to hug him but he didn't know if Cale would allow him so he just took his hand.
"Cale, you are not trash. You are a wonderful person who has survived all kinds of disasters. While most would have given up, me first. You are strong, a very strong person. Just thank you, thank you for being able to meet you and for surviving."
This time Cale couldn't help but cry but a smile was on his face at the same time. Despite the tears, he felt good and happy. These were the words I always wanted to hear. Even if doubt will always be in his mind as well as the eternal question of why him and not the others but it still comforts him a little.
He could see a tissue appear in front of him, it was Ron. He took it and thanked him.
" Thank you for everything... "
It took a while for Cale to calm down so they waited and in the end Cale was just tired from talking and crying so much
Everyone saw that he was exhausted, they must not forget that he had just woken up after being seriously ill.
"You should go back to sleep but first promise us that you will tell us the next time that you are not feeling well or take me something else. We don't want to see you like this anymore." Eruhaben told him, he really meant it and wanted to help him.
"Okay..." Cale fell asleep after saying it. He promised himself that he would try to talk to them more, why not even one day tell them about his past. But he had time for it, his family had accepted him, that was the main thing. He went back to sleep happy.
