As you try to continue your daily duties, some of the Followers have been non-stop distracting you, especially Jayaty the yellow cat, it ranges from simple hello's, to asking about decorations, wanting flowers from your garden, to talking to another Follower, then you finally had enough, as Jayaty is making their way to you again you beat them to talking.
"Hold it right there, what's going on?"
"Huh? Um...I don't know what you're talking about (Y/N)!" They sound unconvincing, their point did not stand when they refused to look right at you.
"Jayaty..." You cross your arms as you take a step closer to them.
"W-Well...I...you see!..."
"Just spit it out Jayaty!"
"I-I can't I promised Leshy!"
"So Leshy, is behind all this"
"Wait, don't go!" They grab you by the arm to keep you from walking away, "Please, just wait a little more, you won't regret it!"
You take a hard look at the pleading cat, you are aware that Jayaty and Leshy are best friends, so you trust their judgment, even though you are close to Leshy, you understand that some information needs to be with others, no matter how close you are to them.
"Fine, what area do I need to avoid?"
Jayaty's eyes widen with happiness.
"Just don't go to the kitchen...or even look at it, that's all!"
"You're making it hard to not look at the kitchen, you know?"
"I know, just please do it, if not for me, for Leshy!" Jayaty clasped their paws as a way to beg.
"Alright, alright, I'll just pretend the kitchen doesn't exist, just stop that, please"
"Thank you (Y/N), you're the best! but I really do need some more flowers..."
You lead Jayaty to your garden, which has grown in size, you even started to experiment with different types of flowers, you helped pick the best ones at the moment.
"Thank you so much (Y/N), I promise when Leshy is ready I'll tell you!"
You give Jayaty a small wave goodbye, you begin to busy yourself with anything that does not involve the kitchen. You start by replanting some flower seeds, watering the seedlings, raking away any dead leaves, and you even cleaned up inside the temple.
Eventually, Jayaty came up to you, with excitement in their step.
"You ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be" You will not say it out loud, but you start to get nervous for what is to come.
"Perfect!" Jayaty, with no warning, covers your eyes and leads you to the kitchen.
"Is this really necessary?"
"Yup!"
Jayaty led you to the kitchen but did not take their paws off yet.
"Keep your eyes closed until otherwise" They finally let go of your eyes, but as instructed, you keep your eyes shut, first you hear whispering, then a few groups of footsteps going away.
"Open your eyes!" You hear Leshy's voice and do what he says, what you see leaves you speechless.
The kitchen area is beautifully decorated, there is a small table with a red cloth and a vase of flowers, a few of the flowers are scattered around the grass, and a tall lantern illuminates the area in a soft glow.
"I said you can open your eyes!" You realize you did not say a word to Leshy yet as you take in the sight.
"They are open! I was just admiring everything..."
"Oh...o-of course I knew that!" He stammers over his words, "Take a seat" he gestures roughly towards the table and chairs, you take a seat and hear some sizzling coming from the kitchen, you look over and see Leshy is now wearing a chef's hat and apron, you did not know Leshy took coking this seriously.
He places a splendid vegetable feast in front of you and one for himself, it looks completely different compared to how you would make this meal.
"Enjoy!" Leshy begins to eat his meal, and with no hesitation you dig in, your eyes widen as soon as it contacts your taste buds.
"Leshy, this is amazing! What did you do?" You continue to take bites.
"I'll tell you later" He sounds proud to know that you enjoy his cooking.
You both continue eating and chatting throughout the amazing meals that Leshy prepared for you.
"You need to teach me your secrets, this was wonderful" Leshy starts to fiddle with his seeing stick.
"I did make you something" He taps under the table with the stick to look for something, he bends down and pulls out a small notebook, he hands it to you, "That has all the recipes I know, maybe we can cook together, and I can show you how it's done".
You flip through the pages, taking quick glances at the pages that stick out the most to you.
"I would love to do that with you".
You help him clean up the mess in the kitchen and decide to go for a walk around the cult, to relax, and to spend more time together, just the two of you. You both lose track of time, whenever you two are together the day just slips away from you, and now the sun is meeting the horizon line.
Leshy picks a spot to sit to enjoy the last moments of warmth before the chilled air of the night comes; you scan the grass for any rocks that might make the area uncomfortable to relax in, deeming it safe you agree.
As you sit close to each other you feel a sense of Déjà vu, the memory of Leshy's first day here came rushing in, and this is the exact same spot you both laid down in on that day as if on cue, Leshy lays on his down on his back with one arm behind his head, skipping the hesitation from that day you lay down next to him, the biggest difference from then to today is that you two are closer, both friendship and physically, your cheeks grown warm with how close you are, moments like this make you glad that he is blind.
The warmth of the sun lulls you to sleep, but this time it is not a bushy tail that snaps you awake, but a fuzzy paw holding yours, your face is flush red at the action, you look over at Leshy, he is facing up at the sky, not wanting to ruin the moment you look back up at the orangey-pink sky.
You move your fingers in Leshy's grasp so that you have your fingers intertwined with his.
