Pete's POV

My wedding with Vegas was held at a top-tier luxury hotel, chosen by Khun TanKhun, who had initially considered this venue for Khun Kinn's wedding. Since Khun Kinn still hadn't married, it ended up being used for our wedding instead. The announcement of the wedding was made almost immediately after we found an auspicious date, and invitations were sent out from both the main and minor families. Most of the guests invited held significant power and business connections, and we also sent invitations to the media.

For the morning ceremony, both Vegas and I wore traditional Chinese-style red suits. My outfit resembled a modified qipao, which I had tried on and found quite flattering, so I didn't mind wearing it.

Before the ceremony began, Vegas and I stood greeting numerous guests, many of whom I didn't know. During the event, I met Vegas's aunt, Pim, or Khun Pim of the minor family, for the first time. She was a beautiful pregnant woman, who carried herself with grace, making a notable entrance alongside Khun Gun, which reflected her position well. However, Khun Pim had no formal role in the wedding ceremony. Only Khun Gun acted as Vegas's guardian and elder relative. This indicated to everyone that Khun Pim, as Gun's unregistered wife, had power but no legal rights.

The hybrid Thai-Chinese morning ceremony went smoothly, including the monk ceremony, engagement, ring exchange, tea ceremony, and more. Everything proceeded well, and by noon, Vegas and I finally had a moment to catch our breath. I noticed that Vegas seemed stressed, while I just smiled until my cheeks hurt.

"Is something wrong?" I handed him a glass of water, which he accepted before sighing.

"I saw the guests my father invited that we haven't greeted yet."

"Huh?"

"The business partners... those Betas and Omegas."

"How many? Tens of them?" I teased him, causing Vegas to turn and see me smiling, making him pause.

"Are you okay?"

"It's our wedding. What could they do?"

"You know I still have to pretend to be interested in them, to show that this wedding was forced by the main family."

"Vegas, you do your part. Let me handle mine."

"Why can't I just be happy and focus only on you at our wedding...?" And then I kissed him. His Alpha pheromones were filled with irritation and stress, a scent that others might misinterpret as displeasure about marrying me.

I hugged him, letting him breathe and relax.

"Can't we just skip the rest?"

"Someone will come looking for us," I said with a laugh. Vegas in a sulky mood was new to me! Then he clasped my left hand, the hand wearing our wedding rings.

"I love you so much, Pete."

"Yes, dear. I love you too, Vegas." He smiled at me, loving it when I used terms of endearment. Hearing them always made him smile, making my embarrassment worth it.

We had a small snack before going out to greet more guests, mostly those Khun Gun invited. With the Betas, it wasn't a big deal; most congratulated us normally, although some hinted that they could still meet for business as usual. Initially, Vegas responded professionally, but as the number of guests invited by his father grew, he started to get increasingly irritated. Eventually, I stepped in, smiling sweetly and responding on his behalf, saying,
