Pete's POV

I got into the car with Porsche driving. Along the way, he reported to Khun Kinn that we were on our way back. I sat in the back seat with Macau, my eyes gazing out the window.

In the end, Khun Gun didn't stay to hear updates on Vegas...

Vegas...

"Pete, are you hurt anywhere?"

Vegas...

If I said I was hurt, would you wake up and come see me?

In my mind, all I could see was Vegas lying with his eyes closed, his face pale, the white suit half stained red, his hands cold, and his weak pulse.

"Why, during our wedding, can't I just be happy and focus only on you?"

"Can we not go out?"

"I love you so much, Pete."

Then I closed my eyes, letting tears stream down my cheeks, trying not to sob so others in the car wouldn't hear.

When we arrived at the main family house, I hastily wiped my tears, found a room for Macau, and reassured him that if anything happened, I would inform him. But first, I needed to clean myself up, and tomorrow we would go to the hospital together.

"Porsche, is Khun Kinn in a meeting?"

"Yes, I'm just about to head there."

"I'll take a quick shower and then follow."

"Pete, shouldn't you rest first? You've had a long day with the wedding, and don't forget you're pregnant."

"Vegas might be dying, and you want me to rest? Besides, the main family owes me an explanation for this assassination attempt, right?"

My words changed Porsche's expression from concern to worry. Given my current status, equivalent to Vegas's, I was now a member of the minor family.

"Alright, I'll let Kinn know," he said, shaking his head as he walked away.

I walked to my room, grabbed some clothes, and headed to the shower. While unbuttoning my suit, I noticed my hands were covered in dried blood.

Vegas's blood. My alpha. My lover.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror, seeing myself in a light pink wedding suit now stained with large red patches.

Vegas...

The smell of his blood on me.

The scent surrounded me, but he wasn't here. I was alone on our wedding night. I wrapped my arms around myself as he would have, and I closed my eyes.

I remembered him saying he loved me.

From the moments we were together in that room until today.

"Pete, believe me. I really like you. You make me happy."

"You are the one I love, Pete."
