Vegas' POV

As the day of the event approached, both Pete and I got busier. Pete had already brought Grandma Jui and Grandpa Noi from Chumphon to act as elders at the wedding, besides Khun Korn, who was both Pete's elder and a symbol of authority from the main family.

The wedding arrangements, including choosing various items, were all managed under the supervision of the main family. Khun Noo was in charge, which meant Pete was also involved. Second Brother handled security, and I was the final inspector. It might seem like I wasn't very involved, but in reality, I had other urgent matters to take care of, like preparing the residence for Pete and our future child in the secondary family house, since Pete would have to move there after the wedding.

I told pa I was going to renovate the wing I was living in. When I presented the room plans to him, he just looked and said, "Do whatever you want." I felt he had some thoughts, not about forbidding me, but I couldn't tell what they were.

Pete's room would be next to mine, divided into sections similar to mine but with a different room order: a study, a bedroom, and a lounge that might become a nursery in the future. This room would connect to mine with a door I had installed, leading to the innermost room where we had spent months together.

I took the liberty of handling this without consulting Pete first because he was busy helping Big Brother with the wedding arrangements. If he wanted to make any changes later, we could deal with it then.

I inspected the renovation and was satisfied with the progress. Taking a break, I wondered how Pete was doing.

"Hey," I said as soon as he picked up.

"Hey, how are you? Busy?" Pete's voice on the phone always gave the impression we were sneaking a conversation or he was on a covert mission. I could easily picture him cupping his hand over the phone.

"Heh, no. Have you had lunch yet?"

"Yeah, I ate with Grandma and Grandpa. Have you? If not, I can come out and eat with you."

"It's okay. Don't be worried." I knew he would feel guilty if he knew I hadn't eaten yet, even though it was impossible for him to know when I'd be free to meet him.

"How about dinner then?" he asked diplomatically.

"Sure, I'll pick you up. I have something to show you too."

"Okay, see you then."

"Love you," I said, getting used to it.

"Love you too." He hung up quickly. Normally, Pete didn't respond. This time he did and then hurriedly hung up. How can a bodyguard be so cute?

In the evening, I took Pete to the tallest rooftop restaurant in Bangkok. I had considered his morning sickness while choosing the menu, even though his symptoms had improved and he usually didn't feel sick at dinner.

Honestly, I didn't bring him here for any special occasion, just wanted him to relax. During dinner, he updated me on the minor changes in the wedding details. I laughed as I watched him talk and eat.

"What are you laughing at?" he asked, tilting his head in confusion.

"I brought you here to relax, but you're still talking about work."
