Summer felt great. You didn't have any exams in sight and didn't need a job, so you had all the time in the world.

"Hey, is it okay if I borrow a towel? I forgot one at home," Marcia asked as she packed her things. She had spent the night here, and now the both of you were waiting for the boys since you were going to Arthur's beach house for the week.

"Yeah, just check my bathroom, it's restocked normally."

Marcia nodded and went to pick up a white towel. You were excited; it would be fun to hang out with Marcia again. You were having the road trip you talked about but with two extra men tagging along. You still couldn't get over the fact that she and Dan got back together.

"You know, we should throw a party at the beach house," Marcia suggested.

"Who would drive six hours for a party?" you asked in disbelief.

"You would be surprised; if it's the right group of people, it shouldn't be too hard."

"We can ask Arthur when they arrive."

The sound of a car driving up the stony path alerted you to the arrival of the boys.

"Speak of the devil," Marcia said.

You finished packing and dragged your things out of your room; the butler helped you take your luggage down. You were only staying for a week, so there wasn't a lot. Luckily, Arthur and Dan brought a Jeep, so there was enough space for everything.

Marcia ran down, giving Dan a big hug.

You felt bad, so you went down to kiss Arthur. Showing affection competitively was weird.

"You girls ready?" Dan asked. He had sunglasses on and a Hawaiian shirt with sandals. He looked ready for the beach with the beach shorts. Arthur dressed a bit less colorfully with his black jacket and black joggers.

"Yep! Let's head out," you said, and the four of you loaded the car and set off for the beach house.

You sat in the passenger seat next to Arthur, who was taking the first three-hour drive. Looking into the front glovebox, you saw a bunch of snacks stashed. You looked up at Arthur, who seemed nervous.

"Is this for me?" you asked, pulling out the snacks. It was stuff you bought over the exam season to binge; he remembered?

"Yeah, I kept seeing you buy it, so I figured you'd appreciate having some snacks."

"Good boy," you said under your breath just for him to hear. A blush brushed his cheeks as he adjusted himself in his seat. "I'll reward you on the break, okay?" you said.

He nodded as he focused on the road.

"We made a playlist last night," Marcia exclaimed as she connected her phone to the screen. "You guys can't complain."

"No complaints here," Dan said, playing along as she started the first song.

"Hold up, is that Barbie??" Dan asked. "No way we're listening to that."

"It's objectively a great song!" Marcia argued.

"Okay, okay, on the way back, we get to make the playlist."

Marcia and Dan bickered, and you had to admit they looked great together. The blonde did look good on him.

'So much for hot girl summer.'

"I'm gonna nap. Wake me up when we stop for a break," you said, making yourself comfortable.

"Hmm," Arthur hummed. He liked watching you sleep, so he didn't mind.
