AmeliaThe next day Aunt Maeve had to fly up to Auckland to sort out a contract issue with one of the businesses that hired her so I asked her if I could stay at her place till she got back. It would be the perfect opportunity for Blake and I to be alone and to be as loud as we like. I was over the moon when she said yes. I also decided to let Liv and Jamie spend this time with Nan uninterrupted so I could take Blake around and spoil her like she deserves. I also asked Aunt Maeve if we could borrow her car which she was totally fine with as long as we dropped her off to the airport and didn’t damage it. Aunt Mave had a fancy Mercedes with a really nice interior. Leather seats and everything. Blake really wanted to drive but I wanted to surprise her so I drove off to our first destination which was in town.
We stopped by at the dock and took a minute to take everything in. There was a huge massive lake with mountains surrounding us as far as the eye could see. It was a beautiful sunny day with not a cloud in the sky and in this moment everything felt absolutely perfect. No wonder why mama proposed to mum here. I still remember it like it happened yesterday.
Mama flew us down because she wanted mums friends and family to be around to celebrate once she popped the question. I was the very first person she asked permission from. We were sitting together watching spy family on the couch. Mum had gone out to grab some groceries when she turned to me and asked.
“How would you feel about your mum and I getting married?”
”Omg mama! Are you going to ask her?!” I asked excitedly.
“I want to ask her to be mine forever. I love her so much. I love you both so much. I want us to officially be a family. I want to officially adopt you, if that’s okay with you?” She asked.
I couldn’t help but pull her in for a tight hug.
”You want to adopt me mama?” I asked with tears in my eyes.
“Of course my baby. I want to officially be your mama so we can always be a family forever. So nobody can ever take you away from me” she said holding me tightly. “So what do you say?”
”I would really like that mama. I want you to always be my mama. And I really want you to marry mum. You make her really happy. You make us really happy”
”Great!” She said beaming and kissing my forehead. “I want to ask her to marry me in Queenstown when we go see Nan and Aunt Maeve. Will you help me ask her?”
”Of course mama! I can’t wait!”
”Can’t wait for what?” Mum asked as soon as she walked into the room with a bag of groceries in her hand.
”Nothing!” Mama and I both said at the same time.
”Why do I get the feeling you both are up to no good” Mum said chuckling.
“Of course we aren’t, baby. Why would you even think that?” Mama asked with a guilty look on her face, getting up and then kissing her to distract her.
“I missed you baby” Mama said wrapping her arms around her in a hug and kissing her cheek.
“I missed you too. And I know what you’re doing. You’re trying to distract me with affection but I’m on to you! I will find out what you are both up to”
”We aren’t up to anything, my love. But good luck with that” mama said, pecking her lips one more time before she pulled her onto her lap so we could all watch spy family together.
Mum really was suspicious and almost caught us twice when mama and I would brainstorm in my room for ideas of how to propose. But she luckily never caught on quick enough because when mama booked out the whole cinema for our whole family and mum's friends to watch the original Little Mermaid together, she was in shock when instead of the movie there was a different video playing. It started off with Mama talking while in real life mama snuck off out back to put on a suit and had a rose in her hand while I had the ring in my pocket.
