CHAPTER SEVEN

It was nearing four o'clock, meaning the Sparrows would be arriving soon for the "handoff," even though we did not have Marcus. Diego, Luther, and I were sitting at a table, playing a game that none of us were trying to win at, except Luther. One of them made a remark about how Viktor and Allison were being all close, which was never a good sign. They did have a point though, every time they were all buddy buddy, something ended up happening. There was no sign of Five or Klaus, we hadn't seen them all day. I figured Five was doing something with Lila to figure out our paradox problem, but I had no idea what Klaus was up to. Viktor and Allison came up to our table, Viktor taking the fourth seat while Allison stood between me and Viktor.

"So, what's the plan?" Luther asked as the two sat down. Diego and Luther hadn't really gotten any information out of me from our conversation with the Sparrows as I didn't walk back with the two since Ben intercepted me. I had been closed off for a couple of hours, both of my brothers knew that I didn't want to talk. "When do the Sparrows get here?"

"Follow our lead." Allison answered, looking at Viktor.

"Uh-uh. Nice try. We don't take orders from you." Diego replied, Luther agreeing with him.

"Their right, the Sparrow's strength is their loyalty and the fact that they always have a plan. We all need to be in the loop." I spoke, Diego and Luther nodding in agreement.

"Oh shit. They're early." Luther exclaimed, causing all of us to look towards the door. It wasn't that early, only by a couple minutes.

The five of us headed towards the lobby doors to meet the Sparrows. They were all clad in their mission uniforms, which were the same as ours except they were maroon with a Sparrow icon instead of an Umbrella one.

"Well, thanks for coming." Viktor spoke, giving off a kind demeanor.

"Oh, yeah, super glad to be here." Jayme sarcastically spoke.

"Where are the rest of you?" Ben demanded, I refused to look him in the eyes. I decided on observing the remaining members, trying to figure out what they were up to.

"Are you taking attendance?" Diego remarked. "They'll be here."

"Where's the briefcase?" Allison asked.

"Where's our brother?" Ben asked back.

Allison gave him a smirk before continuing. "Maybe we should try this again before I lose my temper."

"Allison–" Viktor warned.

"I got this." Allison interrupted.

In the corner of my eye, I saw Sloane mouthing something to Luther, 'run.' Run? Run from what? Maybe this was a trap, did they know we didn't have Marcus?

"Hand over the briefcase or no deal." Allison spoke.

"Yeah, tiny problem. Deal's off." Ben announced.

"Oh! 'Run!'" Luther exclaimed, gathering the attention of others.

Out of nowhere, Stan came out of nowhere holding a pipe bomb. "Molotov this, bitches!"

"Stanley, not now!" Diego stopped him, causing him to drop the bomb and set one of the tapestries on fire. Well, this isn't going too well.

"Power up." Ben spoke to his siblings. "Now, Chris." Diego had grabbed Stan, dragging him away from the fire. Within moments, Chris had used his ability to stun us. It was as if a million needles were pricking into our heads, causing all of us to fall to the ground, withering in pain.
