Dinner went on for much longer than I expected. Sterling found a lot of things to talk to me about — work, my family, my favorite clothing brands.

I actually had to cut the dinner short, using the excuse that my ride was here to pick me up, even though Devin and Charlie had been waiting outside through the entirety of dinner to make sure I didn't get murdered.

Sterling took care of the check, and I thanked him for dinner before leaving the restaurant with haste. I practically ran to the car and threw myself into the backseat.

"You aren't dead." Charlie commented while Devin put the car in drive.

I started pulling my heels off immediately. "No, just sick of talking about myself for hours and answering his never ending questions."

"Jesus, was he interrogating you?" Devin laughed, even though concern was written all over his face. "What'd he ask you about?"

I buckled my seatbelt. "So many questions about what kind of clothes I like to wear. He also asked about my family and why I was quitting the internship."

"Clothes?" Charlie and Devin asked at the same time, like they were in complete disbelief.

"Yes." I nodded with a forced smile on my face to express how weird I thought it was too.

Devin glanced at me through the rear view mirror like he was doing earlier. "He sounds like a fucking strange guy."

"He is." I admitted. "He has a full itinerary of things for us to do tomorrow. Like, just me and him. I told him that I had two friends with me and he made it very clear that 'for the ticketed events, he only purchased two tickets.'" I mocked his tone and seriousness that he used when revealing this information to me earlier.

I didn't necessarily expect for him to buy extra tickets for my two friends, but I figured he'd at least be open to them joining us. I don't know.

"So you're gonna spend the entire day alone with this dude?" Devin's voice lowered in anger. "I don't fucking think so."

"I'm gonna buy you guys tickets for the museums and stuff. I don't want it to just be me and him."

"No, you've paid for basically the entire trip." Devin glared at me. "No more. We'll buy our own tickets."

"They're not cheap, Devin." I admitted truthfully. "Just let me handle it. I seriously don't mind at all."

Both of the boys work and could probably pay for at least a few of the tickets, but we're fucking college students. I'd never make them waste their hard earned money on this stupid trip, especially when I have a dad that will gladly pay for all of it without blinking an eye.

We drove back to the hotel after making a pit stop at Taco Bell for the boys. I got a large nacho fry and a Baja Blast freeze as a post-dinner snack, since I couldn't help myself.

We went up to the hotel room and I immediately took my dress off and changed into sweatpants and one of Devin's old t-shirts that he gave me.

"They didn't give us any sauce." Charlie groaned while digging through the food bag. "Fuck Chicago. I hate this place."

"I don't use sauce at Taco Bell." I commented while handing Devin his crunchwrap. "It's good without it."

Charlie didn't seem convinced by that at all. He climbed over beside me and Devin, who were both laying with our backs against the headboard. Then I was sitting between both of them, and Charlie was chewing loud as hell.
