That's a creature wrapped around me
It calls itself anxiety
It whispers doubt into my ears
Filling up my head with chaos

It stands on my fragile shoulders
Weighing me down with worry
It stabs on my poised heart
Attacking me with distress

It clinches my paper lungs
Cutting me breathless
It forces my soft hands
Roughing up my decisions

It shakes me awake at 3 a.m.
Giving my body goosebumps
Even then, I completely ignore it, I put it off
I say to myself "you're fine-you're fine"

When, it just wants to be controlled
But it can't be hold on
That's a creature wrapped around me
It calls itself anxiety
