Now, Aaliyah Williams was a girl who would rather enumerate the reasons she loathed someone directly to their face than concern herself with planning a wedding. Thus, as she sat before her mother, Violet Bridgerton, and Lady Danbury at the Williams estate, she simply stared with slightly wide eyes at how efficiently they worked.
"Oh, when Benedict was a wee child, he loved those candied grapes!" Violet said with a chuckle, prompting laughter among the ladies. "Then we simply must have them at the wedding breakfast!" Eleanor added, jotting it down on a piece of paper.
Lady Danbury looked at the bride-to-be, who remained frozen in her seat, holding a teacup as she watched the Countess and Lady Bridgerton discuss the betrothal party and the need to call on the new Viscountess for assistance.
The Dowager settled beside the blonde, who still did not move. "It must be overwhelming, I know," she began. Aaliyah finally unfroze and looked at her. "Right now, you are seeing a mother in her element."
Aaliyah let out a chuckle as she placed her teacup on the table. "I admit, I seem to have forgotten that Ben and I don't need a special license for our wedding, so we have to go through the standard procedures of, well," she sighed, "everything." She rubbed her temples softly.
Lady Danbury patted her hand. "It is indeed a great deal to manage, but you will find your way. You have a strong spirit, my dear, and that will serve you well."
Aaliyah smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Lady Danbury. I just... I want everything to be perfect, but it feels like a whirlwind."
"And so it is," Lady Danbury agreed with a twinkle in her eye. "But amidst the whirlwind, there is beauty and joy. Trust in that."
Princess Adelheid entered the room with a smile as she greeted the ladies before sitting next to Lady Bridgerton as they started to plan the betrothal party. Lady Danbury gave a alook to Aaliyah who chuckled before listening in and try to suggest a few ideas.
