Excerpt from "Christine Leroux's Interviews with the Supreme" from November 27, 2048

(conversation and thoughts in English)

...

Christine Leroux (Interviewer): What, in your opinion, is "Hope"?

When the bald dictator heard this question, he leaned slightly towards the journalist, and a strange kind of happiness appeared on his face.

Rozescu: "Hope" is one of the most beautiful things, absolutely. Without it, practically everything around us would be meaningless.

He said in a gentle voice.

Christine Leroux (Interviewer): Why?

The journalist asked. Rozescu, after her question, looked at his thigh, where military long camouflage pants were worn. He stared at them for a long moment, his face taking on a warmer and warmer expression for a reason unknown to anyone but him.

Rozescu: You see, "Man," despite his undeniable power, can fall into a crisis that can strip him of that title. I believe I mentioned this not long ago. This crisis affects not only him but the collective as well. Take depression or prolonged flu, for example. Untreated, both of these diseases can not only harm one's health but also their life. The victims of these diseases are counted not in thousands, but even millions, indicating how devastating they are. Imagine how many people could still contribute to humanity if not for them.

Rozescu: The same goes for the spirit of "Man." When no one takes care of it properly, that spirit can deteriorate - manifested by, among other things, a loss of identity and self-denial. And then, a person becomes like a shell - completely hollow. Like an empty instant coffee jar. Or...

He pointed with his hand to an empty pitcher.

Rozescu: Like this vessel, in which there was water not long ago.

Rozescu: When a person loses their core - their essence, they lose the "Strength" that, as a representative of "Man", they should hold in their heart. However, I admit that such situations are partly understandable to me. Humans have a tendency to pull the cart uphill one day and let it go downhill the next - generally preferring the latter activity. But it's important not to lose oneself in the descent, because at the bottom, it can gain too much momentum and derail. Then, we know what happens to a person.

He paused his speaking for a moment to fix his sleeve.

Rozescu: A true "Man" is when they choose to push that cart uphill. It doesn't matter if the cart is filled with wood, coal, iron, or if it's completely empty. That's when a person utilizes their "Strength" to achieve something that will ultimately bring the desired success.

Rozescu: However, we must not overlook the fact that on our path - beside the track of the cart - it's rarely the case that there's practically nothing. There's always some earth, grass, rock, snow. Occasionally a tree or a house. It's easy to be enchanted by all of this and get lost, causing your cart to descend - and then you have to start over. Unfortunately, it's not always granted to everyone.

Rozescu: Let's be honest.

He raised his eyebrows.

Rozescu: Such a moment of inattention is incredibly easy - especially when a person is constantly pushing the weight uphill. Without any motivation, "Man" is practically destined for failure and sooner or later becomes something akin to a beast.
