(conversation and thoughts in Turkish)
...
Journalist: Hey! What time is it and when are we supposed to be on air?
A slender woman with distinctive facial features and fairly heavy makeup asked. She was dressed in a fairly elegant black outfit, which made her stand out quite a bit from the politicians gathered in the large hall behind her.
She was now intently looking at a small mirror in front of her, applying red lipstick to her lips.
The unsure cameraman looked at her with a questioning expression.
Cameraman: Isn't that a bit too much lipstick...
Journalist: I beg your pardon, dear?
She said with a slightly irritated voice, looking up at the straight-faced man, meeting his eyes. Someone might think she looked like a Turkish Marilyn Monroe at that moment – except her hair was incredibly black – like coal.
The cameraman shook his head.
Cameraman: Nothing, never mind.
Journalist: I asked you for the time! Are you going to tell me or not?!
The Turk looked at his electronic watch.
Cameraman: It's 4:28 in the afternoon.
The man mumbled. The woman huffed and slightly turned up her nose.
Journalist: Listen, dear! Today is a very important day. Today I finally get the chance to shine, and you are going to make it happen for me.
Journalist: You better not let me down!
The Turk sighed helplessly, lowering his arms. He slightly lowered his gaze and shook his head.
Cameraman: Alright, Miss...
Miss Gurur: Miss Gurur!
Cameraman: Okay, Miss Gurur.
The journalist shook her head in disappointment with her colleague's attitude and, offended, lifted her chin high.
Miss Gurur: Ugh! To think I have to work with such simpletons.
She said to herself, then turned back to her mirror, this time pulling out powder from her pocket.
"Vain."
The cameraman thought.
"All she cares about is her career. Lucky she got chosen and now she's showing off like a peacock."
