Center of Attention 💫(Soap x Male reader!)

Soap was always the centre of attention. He was loud, energetic, and funny (and annoying). He got along with everyone. This wasn't because he was friendly, but because he did exceptional work. Everyone knew they could count on him for whatever mission came.

It was another day after an amazing mission. Everyone was cheering and congratulating him for his great work. Everyone was smiling, drinking, and laughing. You, on the other hand, were quiet and cultivated. You and Soap had been together and had no problems except for personality types. While Soap would celebrate, you would stay silent in the corner.

You never really minded that he was always in the spotlight. You enjoyed seeing him so happy while everyone paid attention to him.

"C'mon let's go have some fun and celebrate - we did such a good job!" Soap exclaimed, shaking you around with a grin.

"I think I'll just go home and rest up, love" you answered warmly. You didn't want to stay at the bar while everyone chatted. You were always left out of every conversation because no one knew you well. You didn't care but you also didn't want to sit there awkwardly while everyone spoke to your boyfriend. 

"I promise it will be fun this time!" he smiled.

You sighed in defeat, knowing you wouldn't get out of this one. "Fine, I'll go," you said, giving him a half smile.

"That's the spirit," he said, before running off to join the rest of the group. You follow shortly after, behind everyone else.

As all the soldiers filled up the bar and sat down, the place got louder. It was late at night, around 12 or so. Everyone surrounded Soap. They drank and cracked jokes. You sat in the corner, excluded. You took a few sips of beer before laying your head down on the table.

Soap took notice of you being awfully quiet as always, but today was different. He wanted you to enjoy yourself too.

He got up from his seat with a wide smile, placing his arm around you. "Of course, I couldn't have done it without my husband, either!"

Everyone lifted up their cups in response, nodding and laughing.

"You know, he may be quiet, but he sure knows how to have a hell of time. he's a good ol' man." Soap grins, kissing you on the forehead. 

You couldn't help but smile at his words as everyone looked at you with a smile. A strange sensation washed over you. All the attention was on you for the first time. But, you had to admit it was nice.
