By the time Avery arrived back at the group she was told Shane had left to go find Lori. Avery always suspected something was going on between them, but Lori always seemed to hate him. She wanted to know. She would've gone with Shane if she was back in time, she wished she had gone with him. Avery continued to worry about Rick and Glenn, not so much Hershel.

She found Carl sitting on the steps of the house, playing with his shoelaces.

"Hey, you okay?" She flicked his hat while sitting down.

"I'm just worried about both of them, and my mom left without even telling me" He expressed frustratedly.

"I get that, I'm worried too. You do know your mom probably feels bad for not telling you. I can promise that." She tried to reassure him.

"She better." He said lightheartedly.

"Why weren't you at dinner tonight? Me and Jackson were looking for you." Carl asked her.

"I was with Daryl, he offered for me to eat with him." She answered, thinking about the words he said to her.

Little did she know he was out there with Carol saying even more excruciating things to her.

"Oh. Why did you leave?" He asked innocently.

"He ended up saying some mean stuff, that's all." She answered without giving him any details.

"Sorry" He looked at her smiling trying to lighten the mood. She smiled back taking his hat off his head and placing it on hers.

"Thanks for checking up on me," Carl said genuinely.

"your-" Avery stopped her sentence as she heard a car speed towards them. It was Shane. She heard everyone come outside to see who was back.

"Oh, my God, are you all right?"  Avery watched as Lori and Shane stepped out of the car. She had a bloody lip and what seemed to be a head injury.

"What happened?" Andrea asked concerned.

"It was in an accident. I'm fine." Lori insisted.

"She was attacked," Shane stated what he thought was the obvious.

"I'm fine, I really am." Avery could tell she was sick of being asked that.

"Where's Rick?" The same place he's been for the past couple of hours.

"They're not back?" Did she think they were? "Where are they?" The same place, jeez did she hit her head too hard?

"Look, I had to get you back here." Oh my god, Shane lied to her.

"You asshole." Lori fought.

"Lori," Shane said trying to get her to stop.

"He's my husband." She still argued.

"Lori, l will go after him." Yeah, right. "I will find him. Hey! Now, look, first things first--" He stuttered on his words. "I gotta-- l gotta look after you." Why is he acting weird? "l gotta make sure the baby's all right, okay?" What? She's having a baby? Is it Shanes? Avery raised her eyebrows in surprise from her internal thoughts.

"You're having a baby?" Carl asked confused.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He didn't know?

"Come on. Let's make sure you're all right." Dale encouraged her.

They all walked into the house to make sure Lori was okay. Avery's mind was drowning in questions. Wheres Daryl? What's going on with Shane and Lori? How long has Lori been pregnant? Why aren't Rick and Glenn back by now?

Wheres Daryl?

"Hey. I am so sorry that I left without telling you." Lori made it known to Carl.

"It's okay. I wasn't scared." Carl looked at Avery as he said this. he knew she was right.

"When's Dad getting back?" Carl asked the question we've all been wondering.

"Let's hope soon," Lori said optimistically.

"I wanna be there when you tell him about the baby," Carl said upbringing.

"Oh, he already knows," Lori said sorrily. "We were just trying to find the right time to tell you." Lori continued.

"ls it a boy or a girl?" Carl had so many questions.

"Well, we won't know that until it's born," Lori answered.

"Will l be able to feel it?" Avery smiled at the boy, he seemed happy.
