Avery had been banished from the discussion by Rick and was sitting upstairs in Jackson's room trying to listen in. She was placing her ear on the floor trying to pick up anything.
"You look stupid," Jackson said with a slight laugh. "Just let them figure it out," He continued seriously. Avery sat up and sighed.
"I just want to know what's going to happen to him," Avery said softly. She didn't care if he lived or died, she just wanted to see Daryl's opinion. Especially after what he did to him earlier.
"He needs to die," Carl said nonchalantly. "He's a threat to us," He added. Avery was taken aback by this little outburst, but she couldn't deny that she felt the same way. Avery placed her ear back down to the floor finally hearing something.
"No, you'll go hide your heads in your tents and try to forget that we're slaughtering a human being." That's all Avery could hear before she lifted her ear. That had to be Dale, she knew that he was fighting for Randall's life. She didn't agree with it, but she did feel bad for the man. "They decided to kill him." Avery sat straight-faced.
"Good," Carl said getting up and walking towards the door.
"What's up with him?" Jackson asked concerned.
"Could ask the same for you?" Avery scoffed and asked while following Carl. Jackson sat on his bed not following. He didn't want to harm anyone.
"What are you gonna do?" Avery asked Carl trying to catch up to him.
"I wanna see it, make sure it gets done," Carl said coldly. Avery's eyebrows raised before she opened her mouth.
"What? What's going on with you?" Avery asked with care. Carl only shrugged her off and started walking faster.
"Don't follow me this time." That was his last word before disappearing in the night. Avery stood there frozen at what he was about to willingly watch.
Avery wanted to know what spiked his sudden coldness toward everyone. Se took a deep breath and turned around fighting the urge to follow him. All she wanted to do was make sure he would be okay. She also wondered to herself if Daryl was part of this execution. She knew Rick would be the one doing it, but was he still a part of it? Avery noticed that he was starting to play a huge role in the group. She felt as if that's what he deserved, he's done just as much as Rick.
Avery walked towards the fire that the group had created for the night. She knew there were no kids around right now as Jackson was still in his room and Carl was being stupid. So she would just have to bother Glenn.
"Hi, Glenn!" Avery walked up ecstatically. Glenn looked up and gave her a small smile.
"Hey Avery" He responded lightly. He was looking towards the barn.
"Do you like dogs?" Avery asked sincerely, she's been waiting to ask everyone in the group this. Just to make sure she didn't have to hate anybody.
"Of course, I do, my favorite is a chocolate lab" He chuckled slightly giving her the answer she wanted. Her face lit up with a smile which only made Glenn smile bigger.
"I love-" Avery stopped as Rick and Carl began walking back towards the camp. He got caught. Avery knew it was a bad idea. She sighed to herself as Lori stood up approaching them.
"We're keeping him in custody for now," Rick spoke to all of us. Letting us know what he's decided.
"I'm gonna find Dale." Andrea smiled happily.
"Carl, go inside. Now, please." He scoffed and went inside their tent angrily.
"He followed us. He wanted to watch." Rick said not looking Lori in the eyes. Avery could tell he was stressed about this whole situation. She pitied him for it. "I couldn't," Rick said referring to Randall. Avery watched as they hugged each other showing they were there for each other.
