The group walking into the beautiful house and oh. my. god. The front foyer is absolutely gorgeous; Diamond-looking lights, dark wood floors, leather bucket chair in the corner... Just amazing. Music's playing close by, I'm assuming the living room. A couple people, looking around the age of 17, were in the wide hallway talking closely with drinks in hand. Mark took my hand and brought me past the people, I don't think anyone followed, everyone split.
"Hey Mark." A girl said flirtatiously as she leaned against the wall. She's pretty. The type of girl that has perfect makeup all the time, and gorgeous straight blonde hair.
Mark gave her a small smile.
"Hey Maddie." He kept walking, taking me along with him.
I didn't ask. Don't wanna know.
"So, do you know where you're going?" I asked.
"Um, nope." I laughed. We ended up in the living room after we followed the noise. It was huge, just like the rest of the house. Mark took me to a leather love seat and I sat down. "You stay here and I'm going to go get drinks, ok?"
"Yup." He smiled and gave me a kiss before leaving. I looked around, trying to see if I knew anyone. Nope. It was pretty packed in here with people talking and flirting and y'know... Stuff. I'd rather be watching a movie right now but I'm not gonna be a party pooper.
Some guys walked by, looking me over and I kind of just pretended I didn't see them. People sitting in a circle on the floor passed around a joint.
I sat there, fiddling with my fingers.
"Here you go." Chris sat down on the arm rest beside me and handed me a plastic shot glass filled with golden liquid. "I wasn't joking, we gotta get the party started!" I took it and shivered.
"So, you looking for someone tonight?" I asked, handing him the empty shot glass. He shrugged.
"I mean, if prince charming comes by, sure." We both laughed.
"Do you know anyone here?"
"Yea, a couple people I've seen around but not anyone in particular, I guess. What about you? No friends wanted to come?" I shrugged.
"Um, naa." Mark sat back beside me and handed me a red plastic cup. I didn't ask what was in it before drinking a bit of it. Someone came beside us. Very very nice looking guy. He started talking to Chris and I looked over to Mark. He put his arm around me.
"So, how much fun are you having right now?" He asked.
"Oh, so much." Mark smiled and kissed me.
"Just wait after a couple drinks, it'll get better." I laughed a little. Chris left with the guy. "See he always says he's not looking for anyone but he always ends up with someone." I finally put the pieces together that Chris was gay.
"I don't blame him. He's an attractive guy."
"Hey. You got a very attractive man right here." Mark leaned forewords.
"Mhmm." He pressed his lips on mine.
-
Ok, so Mark might have had one too many drinks. And I think I'm almost up there with him but no, I ain't drunk. I'm having fun but limiting myself. More people showed up and it's just getting louder and louder. Chris is totally hitting it off with that guy and it makes me happy. I've barely seen Vic or Jean anywhere so they're probably, y'know... Doing their own thing.
I just went to the bathroom and left after this bitch decided to bang on the door the whole time. Let me pee please. Thanks.
I walked back through people to where Mark was, which was by the big plastic plant thing in the corner of the living room. I stayed where I was. This plant really smells bad. Wow.
Someone grabbed my butt and I turned around, ready to slap a bitch. It was Mark thank god. He started laughing.
"You ass, what's wrong with you?!" He smiled widely and took my waist. "I was getting ready to kill someone."
"Hey, I have a great idea." He paused. "Body shots. You. Me. Shots. Bodies. Yup." He nodded, agreeing with himself.
"How about no." I said. "You're really drunk, babe."
"No I'm not. I can see you clearly. And clearly you're beautiful."
"Nice one. Smooth." He nodded and pecked my lips. I smiled as he kissed me again.
"Yo, Mark!" Someone called and he looked around.
"Hey, Scott!" Mark took my waist as we walked over to a guy. He's shorter, around my height, and his blonde hair is close to shoulder length but somewhat pushed back with product. He's smoking. By the smell I can tell it's not a cigarette. "How's it going, man?" They shook hands.
"You haven't introduced me to your girl yet!" He looked at me as he brought the joint to his lips. I don't like him. The way he looks at me was just not good.
"Oh, this is Hope." I gave him a smile and Scott passed the joint to Mark.
"Pleasure to meet you." He shook my hand slowly as he looked at me and I took it back.
Alright, creep.
Mark inhaled then blew the smoke out of his lips. I never thought he would be the smoking kind. He never really told me and talked about anything like that. I mean, whatever. After a second he handed it back to Scott and he did the same. He handed it out to me.
"Oh, I'm good."
"Aw, c'mon babe."
"It won't kill you." Scott added. I took it and looked at it for a second, all eyes on me. I put it between my lips and inhaled. My throat burned and I coughed. Mark chuckled a bit and kissed the side of my head. "You'll get a hang of it." I gave the joint to Mark. "Oh, hey, have you seen Angel yet? I got something for her."
"No, haven't seen her. Go ask Maddie, she probably knows."
"Alright, thanks man." Scott patted Mark's shoulder as he walked away.
"I know, he's a little weird."
"Just a bit." Mark handed me the joint again. "I'm just making a fool out of myself." I said with a laugh and he chuckled.
"No you're not." I took the goddamn thing again. It still burned and tickled in a weird way. I coughed again but it wasn't bad. "See you're fine." Mark leaned down and pressed his lips on mine. "You're pretty." He whispered and I laughed.
"Thanks."
"Like, really pretty." Mark kissed me again. "So, what do you wanna do? Dance, drink, mingle..."
"I have an idea."
"Body shots?" He asked, putting the joint to his lips.
"No! We should go to the car."
"What?! Babe! I don't wanna go! The party is just getting started."
"No, no. Let's go to the car." I said again with a smile.
"Oh?" Mark's eyes lit up. "Oh!" He laughed like a little kid that just got told he can go to the candy shop. "Hell yea." He took my hand and lead me to the front foyer.
"Hey, Mark! Come'ere." Someone yelled behind us, I think it was Scott, and Mark looked back.
"Sorry man." He said with a happy shrug. He took me outside where it's moist and cold. He took one last drag then threw the joint onto the ground. Someone's getting in trouble for that.
We crossed the street and he unlocked the back door of his car.
"After you, m'lady." He held the door open for me and I gave him a smile. I slid in the back and made room from Mark. He came in the back seat beside me and pecked his lips softly with a smile. I took his shirt in my hand and pulled him on top of me as I fumbled to lay down on the seat. It was squishy but it worked.
The fake leather's cold.
Mark kissed me as I held his waist and one of his hands took my leg to put around his hip. I kissed him and it was fine. It wasn't the greatest kissing we've done but I'll just blame that on the couple drinks we had. I ran fingers through his hair and he slowly pushed my shirt up all the way over my breasts. He trailed his fingers over my stomach and took hold of one of my breasts, squeezing it slightly. I pushed my hand under his shirt.
Mark stopped kissing me and tugged off his shirt, throwing it in the front passenger seat. He started kissing my neck and it tickled so I couldn't help but smile and bite the inside of my lip.
"No one can see in here, right?" I whispered.
"No, don't worry about it." Mark mumbled into my neck. He skipped to my chest and started kissing my skin.
My heart fluttered in a not so good way. It'll pass. Whatever. It's stupid.
Mark kissed my lips again and put his hand between my legs. My body likes it but my brain doesn't.
"Ok, Mark wait." I said quietly. He stopped and looked at me. "I just don't think-" a smile grew on his face.
"Your so adorable." Mark pressed his lips on mine again. He pulled at my pants but my heart was just going a thousand beats per second. I pushed his chest.
"No." I told him. "I don't think I want to do this right now."
"Babe, it's ok." He said softly and tried to kiss me again but I turned away. I ripped his hands from my pants, pulled them up and quickly pushed down my shirt.
"I said no." I pushed him off and crawled from under him. I opened the car door and got out. I saw Mark grab his shirt from the back and put it on before he followed me out of the car.
He slammed the door.
"What the hell!?" Mark said loudly which made peoples heads turn from the front lawn of the house.
"Do you not understand english? I'm pretty sure 'no' is the easiest word in the fucking dictionary." I told him angrily.
"You can't just do that!"
"I cant do that?" I blurted a laugh. "Haha, wow, that's hilarious because last time I checked I have control over myself and I can do whatever the fuck I want."
"Last time I checked you just took me in my car and wanted to fuck so....?"
"Do you hear yourself right now!?" I laughed again. I didn't know what else to say because he's just that fucking stupid. I turned and started walking down the street.
"Now you're walking away!?" He called.
"Go fuck yourself!" I heard him huff and I just kept walking.
Yes. Fuck him. You can't do that or say that. Holy shit, he's so stupid. I can change my mind if I want. I don't wanna do that and I don't know what I was thinking. Wow. Like, no. I don't have to have sex with anyone. I can back out and that's fine. If someone's gonna act like that then I don't need them in my life.
It's so hard not to turn around and just kill him with my bare hands.
But I kept walking because murder isn't good.
I looked around where I was. Well. Ive never been around here before and all the houses look the fucking same. I took my phone from my bra and looked at the time. Around two am. Shit, what am I doing? How am I getting home? I'm not even supposed to be out. Fuck, I'm going to die out here. Someones going to murder me and they'll never find my body. Sherrie's going to hunt me down and murder me if no one else does. Wow. A lot of mental murdering is going on tonight.
I scrolled through my contacts and called Matt, the only person I could think of. The phone rang and rang and I got his voice mail.
"Hey Matt, wanna pick up your phone? Because that would be great. I know it's late but just answer." I hung up. Ok. What do I do? Um, um, um.
I called him again. It rang and rang. Just before it could go to voice mail again he picked up.
"Hello?" Matt's voice was rough and weak and didn't even sound like him.
"Hey, it's Hope, you sound so tired, wow, oh my god I'm so sorry, I just woke you up." He chuckled a bit.
"Yea, it's ok, what's up?"
"Um, well, long story short, I went out when I shouldn't have and now I'm alone and don't know where I am."
"Oh shit. Are you ok?" He asked and I heard shuffling.
"Um, yea. Well, I'm kind of freaking out, just a bit."
"Where are you? I'm coming to pick you up." I looked around for a street sign.
"Uh, give me a minute." I walked down the street to an intersection and I heard Matt shuffle around. "Uh I'm off of... Ga-..." I squinted at the sign. "Garden Crescent and Michael Road."
"Alright, I'm going to leave now. Want me to stay on the phone?"
"No, no, I'm ok."
"Ok, just stay there, I'll be there soon." I nodded but realized he couldn't see me.
"Alright, bye." I hung up and decided to sit down. My head dropped in my hands and I rubbed under my eyes. Ugh. I just want to go to bed. Or punch myself. Either one. Maybe both.
I wish I never went out.
I waited for about ten minutes. Not a single car or person walked by. It started raining and I just sat there. This is good, this is great. Best day ever. I love life.
I dialled Sherries number. I know she won't answer but leaving her a voice mail is better.
"Hey Sherrie, uh, yea, so I left when you told me not to but don't freak out. Matt's picking me up, I'm fine, I'm not dead. If I'm not home when you wake up don't freak out. I'll talk to you later and when I get home you can yell at me all you want. Bye."
I huffed and went back to waiting. I groaned loudly.
Matt's car pulled up by the curb and he leaned over, opening the passenger door. I got up from the ground and stumbled.
Whoops.
I jumped in the car.
"Are you ok? Why are you out here?" Matt asked, sounding worried. I looked over at him and he was more awake now. He was still in his blue pyjama pants and a light grey baggy sweater with his hair all messed up.
"Matt, I'm fine." I said, shaking me head with a sigh. I turned up the heat when I realized I'm cold.
"Why are you in the middle of the street, alone and, not to mention, tipsy? Something could've happened to you." I looked out the windshield. Oh my god, what's happening? My eyes are leaking. No, no, no. Eyes, you need to stop. Stop this leaking. I rubbed under my eyes. "Heyheyhey..." Matt said softly. He brushed hair out of my face and I pushed him away. Crying is stupid. I hate letting people see me like this. It's so ugly.
Matt left me alone as I forced myself to stop this leakage from my face. Why am I crying? This is stupid. I'm not even sad about what happened. If a fuck face like Mark wants to be a dick then I don't want you in my life.
I fanned my face.
"Crying is ok, y'know." Matt told me after I kinda stopped.
"No it's not."
"Every one does it."
"Matt..."
"Hope..." He said in the same stern tone and I smiled a little.
"Can you just drive please?" Matt nodded. It was silent for a while with just the sound of the pouring rain.
"You smell like ass."
"Thanks Matt, you really know how to make a girl feel better." He smiled a bit.
"What happened?"
"I'll skip the details, but, y'know, Mark and I are at a party, drinking and all, and then stuff happened, I changed my mind and he didn't like that I said no." I could tell Matt got angry in a split second.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, did you punch this guy in the face because if you didn't I will gladly!" I smiled a bit.
"No, but he got a mouthful."
"He didn't like uh-" He stuttered. "-hurt you, did he? At all? In any way? Because I swear to god-"
"No, no. I would've broken his arm, believe me." Matt laughed.
"I know. I'm just making sure." He looked at me briefly with his smile then silence came again. "Do you want to come over?" He asked. "We can talk about it." He paused. "My family's home but just gotta be quiet and they're leaving in the morning anyways. I mean, if you want. I dont know what Sherrie's doing or how you feel or-..." He stopped himself from babbling,
"Well, I'd rather come over than hear the wrath of Sherrie in the morning." Matt chuckled. "Do you have any drinks?"
"You're not getting any drinks."
"I deserve a drink."
"Maybe you do but not tonight."
"I thought we were friends."
"We are. And you're already loopy."
"Oh, shut up." I mumbled.
"Excuse me." He said with a chuckle.
"I didn't say anything."
"Wow, you're an emotional roller coaster."
"Shut up!" I told him.
"And there's anger." I rolled my eyes.
Matt drove to his house and parked in the drive way. I almost fell asleep on the way there.
"Can I just stay here? I'm tired." Matt laughed as he got out of the car. I opened the car door but didn't move.
"C'mon lazy ass." Matt grabbed my hand and pulled me from the car. I groaned. "Please be quiet." He pleaded.
"I'm like a mouse. Like a ninja mouse. Extra quiet." Matt laughed and brought me inside. I followed him upstairs but missed a step and almost fell right on my face. I started laughing but bit my tongue, trying not to continue. I got up, almost falling into the wall. I walking into Matt's room and he shut the door. "Oh my god." I whispered with a laugh. "I'm so sorry." I covered my mouth and Matt smiled with a little laugh.
"It's fine. C'mon you're cold. Want a shirt? I think I have some sweat pants too." He went over to his closet.
"Can I have that sweater you have on? It looks really really reeeally comfy." I said.
"This is my favourite though." He whined and I pouted. Matt huffed, grabbed a white tank top from his closet and took off the sweater. I smiled.
"You da best." I told Matt and he put on the tank top.
"I know. Here." He handed me black sweat pants and the sweater.
"Thank you." He smiled. "I'll be back."
"Are you sure you can make it?" He asked.
"I'm tipsy, not a child."
"Cranky." I stuck my tongue and left his room as quietly as I could. I went to the bathroom and locked the door. I looked in the mirror. Wow. My makeup moved to my cheeks. I took a towel, soaked it with water and soap and started scrubbing at my face. I almost dropped the bar of soap but I didn't. I told you I'm a ninja. I changed into the sweater and sweats and oh my god, I'm so comfy right now.
I used the bathroom and left quietly back to Matt's room. He wasn't in there so I crawled into the bed. Oh my god, I'm in heaven. His door opened and Matt walked in with a glass of water.
"Here." He tried handing me the glass.
"I'm comfy."
"Alcohol dehydrates you. Drinking water equals less of a headache in the morning." I stared at Matt.
"Ok, smarty pants." I said as I sat up and took the glass. Matt crawled in bed beside me and I took a couple sips of water. I wrapped myself in the blanket before taking off my pants and throwing them on the floor.
"Whoa there. I know I'm really attractive and all..." Matt joked.
"Shut up. I don't like pants." I rolled over, looking at Matt. He gave me a small smile.
"Wanna talk about it?" He asked on a more serious note.
"What is there to talk about?"
"Well, are you ok?"
"I'm fine. It's not like my life revolved around him." Matt nodded a bit. "You're such a nice person." He laughed a bit. "No, you are." I paused. "You know that girl you went on a date with, I can't remember her name, but she would be lucky to have you." Matt nodded with a funny smile. "Wait, wait, you don't like her. Ok, I take back what I said. Let me start over... Don't feel bad for not liking her." I paused. "I mean, she would be lucky to have you but don't go in a relationship with her. Because you don't like her. Anyone would be lucky to have you is what I'm trying to say." Matt laughed.
"Just go to bed." He told me.
"You ever had sex before?" I asked and he burst a laugh
"Mhmm."
"Is it really weird and awkward the first time?"
"Well, if you both don't know what you're doing then it's just a mess and It's one of those things that practice makes perfect. It's really not a big deal."
"Then why does every one want it?" I asked.
"Because it does feel good." He told me.
"You just contradicted yourself I think."
"Probably." He paused. "I mean, sex is even better with someone you care about. It's freaky the first time but, eh."
"Mhmm." Matt gave me a smile.
"Go to bed."
"Good idea." I rolled over with my back to Matt and closed my eyes. I'd like to live in this bed please. It's like I'm on a fluffy cloud. I guess clouds are already fluffy.
I fell asleep almost instantly.
-
I woke up to Matt moving around. The room was still dark so I'm guessing it's still the middle of the night. I groaned and looked at him.
"What're you doing?" I whispered
"Trying to get comfortable." He rolled on his back and huffed. "Sorry." He said with his cute smile. I shuffled closer to him and he put his arm around me. I hesitated to put my hand on his chest as if I didn't know if it was ok. But I did. Matt took a deep relaxing breath.
