I sit on the closed toilet in the bathroom stall after Pe, scrolling through photos of Lucy, as tears slowly make their way down my cheeks
I didn't want anyone to see me cry, so I just hid in here
Sometimes it was good to cry, but I just didn't cry in front of others
I hear the bathroom door open as two pairs of footsteps come in
"You're really going without me" A voice says, sounding a lot like Paige
"Sorry, you weren't invited but Dylan is looking extra tasty today and I'm looking equally as hot" A different girl says, I think it was Ruby
"You know Dylan has a girlfriend right" Paige says
"Ha, not for long. Haven't you heard what Olivia did" Ruby replies
Did Dylan cheat?
What did Olivia do?
"It's like the Kaia girl is hogging the market of all the available boys" Ruby says
Something swirls in my stomach.
Anger and sadness mostly
"You think she's pretty?" Paige asks
"You don't have to be pretty when you're a try-hard" Ruby replies
"Boys love novelty, but novelty wears off" she says
"Yea, plus that whole orphan thing, like she won the lottery when her parents died" Paige says
"And they were rich too, weren't they?" Ruby asks
"Yea" Paige says
"So, like she literally won the lottery" Ruby replies
"I mean her, and Jackie don't look related" Paige says
"I had a cousin who looked nothing like their family because of the other family genes so I think they are, but I still don't like her" Ruby says
I rest my head against the wall as I bite my bottom lip hard, as one last pair of tears escape my eyes

The girls finally left so I waited in the stall for a few minutes then walk outside and into the courtyard when the bell rings
"Yo Spitfire, hold up" I hear as I walk across the basketball courts
I turn and see Cole, so I turn and keep walking
