14 - Family sticks together

After what happened in the watering hole, me and Cole made our way home

Cole wouldn't let me wear my wet clothes, so after lots of arguing I ended up just wearing his shirt that was the only thing left dry.

So, I was sitting in the car, just in his dark shirt. Thank God it was so big on me that it was down to my mid-thigh.

Cole insisted that we stop off and get a hot chocolate and that he'd show me how a 'classic' hot chocolate was made, and that it would help me warm up.

I couldn't get out of the car because of my clothing situation, but Cole didn't seem to have a care in the world when he walked into the shop shirtless.

Once we finished our drinks we made our way home, stopping the car in the driveway

I go to walk inside but Cole stops me

"Come through your window first so you can change into something less- revealing" he says

I nod slightly and follow him behind the house and to my bedroom window, which was slightly open

He crouches down, and laces his fingers together, giving me a boost upwards and to my window.

I was just high enough to open it and climb through into my room, keeping my legs together so Cole doesn't see anything.

Finding no one inside, I change quickly into a simple t-shirt and jeans and climb back outside, seeing Cole now beside me once I was on the ground.

Cole motioned me to the door, and I opened it and walked through, with him following behind me

I walk through and into the kitchen seeing the Lee, Alex, Jackie and the Walter parents sitting at the table.

Their heads all shoot up, seeing who was at the door

Massive smiles cracked on their faces as they all ran at me, giving me a massive group hug.

I flinch slightly when Alex hugs me, after the night at the bonfire.

I didn't hug him back and he noticed, stepping back from me, I wasn't ready to forgive him yet

"I'm sorry for worrying you guys" I say, as I'm squashed in the middle of the hug that Lee and Jackie gave me

"Don't worry about it"

"We're just glad you're home"

"We missed you"

I smile at the replies

"Okay guys, go to bed its really late" I hear Katherine says as all of us make their ways up to their rooms

I go to walk upstairs but Katherine stops me

"Hun, please don't run away again. I know we aren't your biological family but your still family to us" she says with a small smile

"Thanks Katherine" I say to her as she wraps me in a hug

I turn to walk off, but her voice stops me

"Oh Kaia"

I turn around to face her

She brings her hand up and points at the side of her neck with a smile on her face

It takes me a moment to realise what she meant then my eyes go wide

Cole gave me a hickey?!

I bite my bottom lip in embarrassment as I turn and walk upstairs
