You walk slowly to the door, silently. Your fingers shake to the touch of the cold knob. You slowly pull away, leaving it still locked. Swallowing upcoming tears and covering your hand under your sweater; you're scared. Frightened.
"Please, I know you're there." He says softly, in a weak tone. You can imagine him; his forehead relying on the other side of the door, his voice cracking now and then and his eyes hoping not to cry. "I-" he managed to say. As you kept on silent he was choosing the exact words to say. He is aware this is probably his last time.
"I did not come here to apologize and ask for your love back; that's the most unlikely thing ever. I don't want you to think that I came here to bring you back to me; actually it's the total opposite." His voice cracked a bit in the end, and he swallowed a bit his tears, but failed as you could hear him tearing up. You were already crying, softly and silently on the other side, almost falling to your knees. "I don't want you to come back; I want someone you will be able to truthfully rely on; as I can't promise you that I'll never do that again. I'm a monster, Y/N. I'm so sorry for making such thing to you, I just- I'm so sorry-" he broke down crying. You could hear his body falling and his back against your front door, as you did the same in the other side. "I want you to know that I know that I dont deserve you and I probably never will. That I gave myself as a birthday gift the biggest loss of my whole life-" he was speaking weakly, between sobs "you. Luke told me everything and I- I-" he was crying and crying. Tears began to fall of your face; you loved him. You did. But what he did was simply unforgivable.
"I love you; and I always did. And I'd like you to know, since now we part ways, that I fell madly and deeply in love with you and that the man that will be great enough to have the honor to have your heart will be the luckiest man ever, just to have you by his side every morning." He sobbed for a little longer, with you holding your heart tightly not to open the door and run to him. "I love you, Y/N. And I believe that you'll find a man that will treat you better than I ever will, but will never love you as much as I do."
