Luke inched towards the door, trying to get a glimpse of what was inside, but he couldn't see past the frame. finally, he took a deep breath, knowing he needed to go in to find Abby, and stepped inside.

mirrors. they were everywhere, and Luke knew exactly what this was.

the maze of mirrors.

he saw a flash of something from the corner of his eye, it was the silhouette of a girl. Abby.

"Abby!" Luke called, moving after her. every time he turned the corner she would be disappearing behind another one.

"Abby, wait!" he called, struggling to get to her faster, but the faster he went, the faster she would go. the maze was disorienting; Luke wondered how they would ever get out of it.

as the chase continued, Luke began to notice things, small things, about the silhouette that he hadn't noticed before. like how it was way too short to be Abby.

Luke turned the corner that the girl had turned last and froze before nearly collapsing with relief. she wasn't facing him, but he was sure it was her.

"Abby, thank goodness." he said, stepping forward and putting a hand on her shoulder. "let's get out of here."

he grabbed her hand and tried to turn, but Abby wouldn't move. Luke pulled harder. "come on, we have to get back to the others before they get too worried."

she still wouldn't move, and that's when Luke knew something was terribly wrong. or maybe it was when he saw Abby inside one of the mirrors, crying and mouthing for him to run.

the thing that Luke had been pulling on grabbed his wrist and slowly turned its head around to face him. Luke was horrified with what he saw.

the thing had no face. no eyes, nose,or mouth. it was just skin. Luke tried to back away, but its grip was iron strong. it pushed Luke back into one of the mirrors, cracking the glass. Luke felt blood drip down his neck. then the thing opened a hidden door behind one of the many mirrors and tossed Luke in as if he were nothing but a rag doll.

after the door shut behind him, the only light came from a small bulb in the middle of the room. someone ran to his side. Abby.

"Luke, oh my gosh. are you okay? you're bleeding, here let me see," she said quickly, attempting to view the cut on the back of his head. he winced as she touched it, grumbling "ow" under his breath. she gave him an apologetic half smile.

"what the hell, Abby? what happened? why'd you run off? where are we? what's that smell?" he spit out the questions as soon as he thought of them.

"I'm sorry, I don't know why I ran. I have absolutely no idea what happened or where we are, but... but I do know what the smell is." she said, looking around them.

Luke followed her gaze and nearly screamed like a little girl. surrounding them- leaned up against walls, lying on the floors- were bodies. decaying, rotting bodies. there were at least twenty of them, all small in build and structure.

"I think we found out what happened to the children that disappeared."
