MIDORIYA'S POV

I stood beside the trunk, my hand on the pistol in my belt. My trust didn't extend very far, and it's already being stretched to its limit. "We're all good," Iida said, zipping up the last bag. I'm supervising and double-checking everything, but this is mainly Iida's job within the Vipers. He deals with arms and drugs.

"And the money?" Jonty, our primary dealer and supplier, asked.

I watched over Iida's shoulder as the money was counted and handed over. It took a while to count it all, but when everything was said and done, Iida and Touya reached for the cases. When I turned around to tell Sho to come help, I was met with the back of Kacchan's head. A few feet to the right of him, Sho stood with his gun drawn. To the left, Shinso and Uraraka were doing the same.

"Since when does the Mafia protect the Vipers?" someone asked. When I peered over Kacchan's shoulder, I saw a member of the Onyx Knives gang. He had a gun drawn on Kacchan. But based on everyone's reactions, he wasn't the original target. Uraraka and Sho were watching our backs, but only Kacchan was stupid enough to actually jump in front of the gun.

"It doesn't matter," Shinso said. "They're with us." Well, half true, I guess. We weren't with them, but we are protection-sworn, as are they. They'll protect us when needed, and we'll protect them when needed.

The Onyx Knives member smirked before a gunshot went off. I don't know who fired the first shot, but it wasn't him. Kacchan was still standing strong in front of me. When another gunshot rang out, my eyes flicked to Sho, who was ducking for cover behind our car.

"Fuck," I grumbled. As I pulled my weapon out, Touya grabbed my arm and started pulling me toward the exit to the abandoned barn. "What the fuck, Touya." I tried to tear away from him, but he held on tightly.

"I'm here to protect you. Let me do my fucking job." He shoved me to the right before shooting at someone behind me.

"But Sho, Iida, and Kacchan—"

"Aren't my responsibility," he snapped. "You are."

My ears were ringing from the shot Touya had fired only seconds ago, and it was hard to hear him. I let him pull me outside, but when he tried to shove me to the car, I twisted his arm behind his back and kicked the back of his knee, causing him to fall.

"Fuck, Midoriya," he cursed.

"I'm not getting in that fucking car," I told him as I peered back inside the barn. Instantly, my eyes locked on Kacchan, and I was glad he was alright, but he wasn't the one I was looking for. Iida was still in the same spot I left him, not even phased by what was happening in front of him. His arms were crossed, and he wasn't even bothered. I rolled my eyes, mentally reminding myself to get him to a shooting range. I know he hates using guns and hates killing people, but the fact that he would rather get shot than shoot someone isn't good. I'll give him live fucking targets if he doesn't get over this shit.

When I didn't see Sho, I started looking at the ground, hoping he wasn't among the lifeless bodies. I'll kill every person in this room if he's fucking hurt. There was blood spilling across the dirt as bodies continued dropping. My heart rate picked up as I searched for Sho with no luck.

What I did see was someone rapidly firing at Kirishima and Kacchan, who were officially backing themselves into a corner. Those fucking idiots.

I turned to Touya. "Give me your gun," I said quickly.

"What?"

"Your gun!" I yelled, holding out my left hand. He knew I would run in there anyway, but with his gun, I would have a better chance.
