BAKUGO'S POV
"Dude, what the hell?" Shitty Hair asked, motioning at the shut door. "There are six different guest rooms upstairs that you could have taken him into. You know we're not supposed to take civi's into our bedrooms," he lectured.
They didn't recognize him. I was expecting them to be pissy that I brought a member of the Vipers to the house, not pissy because they thought I had a civi in my room
"You guys are overreacting," Dunce said without looking up from his switch. Eyebags had his arm slung around his shoulder, studying whatever the hell he was playing. "I'm more surprised you're not freaking out that he took him to the chamber downstairs."
"You fucking what?" Shitty Hair yelled, shooting up from the couch. He's always my voice of reason and tries to keep me from getting killed, but pushing his buttons is what I live for.
I shrugged. "I wasn't sure if I was going to kill him or not." That wasn't true, but it's fun to rile him up.
Dunce laughed loudly. "Don't let anyone else hear that. You'll start a war."
"Yeah, we're actively trying to avoid that. I doubt the bosses will be mad at me." He can't rat me out, and I have absolutely nothing in my room that can jeopardize the mafia as a whole. We have too much dirt on him, and we've been in a strong alliance for decades. We've worked with the Vipers plenty of times—just not the new generation.
And the fact that I just fucked the hell out of the Vipers' next boss or don, whatever the hell they call it in a gang, probably won't piss off our bosses or don. They'll tell me it will strengthen our alliance and that I need to tread lightly.
"Why the hell are you encouraging this?" Shitty Hair yelled at Dunce.
"Because he wasn't a civi," he replied, sitting up and grabbing the laptop from the table. All eyes went to the TV as it came to life, and a picture of Deku popped up. "Izuku Midoriya, twenty years old, is the son of Hisashi Midoriya. The Midoriya family started the Vipers in 1892. Izuku Midoriya is the only son of Hisashi and the heir to the Vipers and everything they own."
"Denks gave you all a file on all the members. Did any of you look it over?" Eyebags asked. "Question is, how the hell did you get him to come back with you?" he asked me.
"I can answer that," Dunce said, opening a new file, which showed dozens of pictures of Deku and I as children. "Young love," he teased, batting his eyelashes at me.
A lot of shit just happened upstairs, but love was not one of them. "I don't know if that qualifies as love."
"No, but we can see your eyes widening," Soy Sauce said. "We know when you obsess and hyper-fixate on something. Maybe the only son and heir to the Vipers isn't a good target for your crazy ass."
I hate that they can read me so well. I had three hours with him, but it wasn't nearly enough. I want more. I want to know what else makes him tick and what kind of pain he likes. I was to know his limits and see if I could find them all.
"I don't know," I said. "I think I found someone who can handle me."
Dunce sighed. "Just... be careful around him. Something doesn't sit right with him. Everyone who has ever met him has said that."
"Is that coming from the higher-ups?" There's something off about him for sure, but I wasn't able to place it.
"Yeah. You can probably ask Aizawa about him. He's one of the people that usually meets with the Vipers, so he probably knows more about him than we do." Or, I could keep seeing him and figure it out for myself. He's like a puzzle, and I'm determined to find all the fucking pieces.
